Can robots replace human power?

I believe that robots can replace humans in memory and speed. They have succeeded also. But can they do emotional reasoning like us? They cannot. What do you feel?

thats not right!!maybe anyone you ask this question will tell that people should not depend on machines..but they themselves depend fully on machines..its machines dat rule the world now..though humans were clever enough to invent types of machnines that they were stupid enuf 2 depend on them..the wrld is diffrent now..there are still hundreds of people walking on the road without using vehicles but why because dthey cannot afford to buy a car!!just like that.. humans are made like dat..there needs always increase..:)

I think most of the replies in this thread ignored your question. And I think you actually missed the point as well. Right now no robots cannot process emotional reasoning. This is not how I feel about it but simple facts. Even the most sophisticated self learning AI is not capable of emotion, nor could it even learn emotion or become truly self aware. Could a robot be made to have emotions, sure why not. After all our emotions are just the result of our programming, sure our programming is considerably more complex then anything we can currently create, but this does not mean it cannot be done. The question is would we ever WANT robots to possess emotions.

Robots can never replace human power. How can they ever do that. It is the humans who have invented them so they cannot become the masters of human. You are right there..they dont have any emotions and feeling and this is the greatest virtue of man and this is what separates the animate from the inanimate. Ronbots cann never be programmed to have genuine feelings.

Robots are simply humanlike machines, they can only imitate tht actions or appearance of an intelligent creature-usually a human. but in emotional reasoning, human are supreme over robots ofcourse. they don't have the feelings or emotions that humans feel.

Toshiba just unveiled its new robot, ApriAttenda, which can talk with its owners as well as follow the owners around by recognizing their voice and/or appearance in a crowd of people. The robot, as per Toshiba, brings us closer to the times when machines (and ApriAttenda looks super cute!) will function as our "life support partners", by caring for the elderly and babysitting the children. As more such machines come out, I wonder if they could, potentially, take place of our human companions of today: dogs, cats and other humans. Consider: You don't need to take a robot for a walk in the park, or pick up his poop. You don't need to worry about leaving your robot alone when you go on a trip. And a robot can't just drop you because his social network has gotten too large, and he can no longer keep in touch with all of his friends. Seriously, so many people already are socializing through machines nowadays that I won't be surprised if some of them shut out the real world completely when robotic life support partners become available (and good enough). Lots of people spend hours writing their blogs and interacting with people in their online social networks -- people they'd never met and will never meet. Robots could, potentially, displace even more real-world interaction. After all, unlike real people, cats and dogs, they will always be agreable, and they will never scratch or bite you.

Yes computers are more than capable humans in regards to memory, speed and power. But they can never replace or even come to par when it comes to human ingenuity, emotion, compassion, imagination and innovation.

because they don't have emotional reasoning, they don't have the ability to improve their self to next level, because they can't feel relieved, happy or suffer. Well i think that robots or anything can give us a hand to improve human quality live, but we shouldn't depend on them so much, like a car for example. More and more people become too depend on a car as a transportation, but if their car broke their complain so much and they couldn't do anything right just because their private car is broke, but there are public transportation, a bike or even walking. Why they don't see the other option? Maybe because they used to go everywhere with their own car. "Enjoy what you have today and never regret it" that's something i always said to my self :)
