Bath Time! Do you give your dog a bath? Outside with the hose?

Or inside in a tub? And just how often do you do it? Or do you pay someone else to do it? Does your dog like it or try to run when he sees it coming?? My largest dog is afraid of the water being sprayed so he is very hard to bath. But we do it anyway. The other one is a bit smaller and easier. She acts like she don't want to but then she loves all the rubbing and attention. Both are goldens. I usually give their bath in the bath tub in the winter and outside in the yard in the summer. You?

I wash my dog in the bath, usually about every 3 weeks, unless he smells then he is straight in the bath whether he likes it or not. I usually have to drag him by the collar to the bath but once in the tub he just stays there and enjoys being washed.

dogs can be bathed to much and lose the natural body oils that they have to protect them. Be careful not to bath to much or use the wrong kind of soap.

I have 3 smelly dogs lol. They spend the day outside unless it's raining, or way to hot/cold for them(they have straw and doghouses). In the summer time, I usually chain them up with their leash and give them a bath with the hose and their shampoo. They absolutely hate bath time. But we just moved to a colder climate, so they haven't had a bath for awhile. Been afraid too because they take so long to dry & it's so cold, and I really don't want their hair clogging the drain. It's hard/real pain to remove the drain thingie on our tub. I was just at Walmart, and saw this shampoo, you don't use water. It's wet, you pour some on, lather them up, then just wipe them with a towel to get the suds off. I'm getting ready to try it in a few minutes. It's a human shampoo, I guess they use it in hospitals, and says NASA uses it as well. Called No Rinse Shampoo-www.norinse.com . Was like 3.00 for the bottle, so no biggie if it doesn't work.

Well, I just tried that stuff. It worked all right, the smell is definitely gone lol! He has a real thick coat, so I ended up using almost 1/2 the bottle just to lightly cover him. As far as dirt, I couldn't see a whole lot on him to start with, I think this stuff is good for someone like me-can't use the tub to bathe them, and too cold outside to do it. But doesn't work as good as a shampoo and a good rinse. Definitely better then before or doing nothing though. Also, it doesn't say tear free anywhere on it, so I didn't do his head, to avoid his eye area. Overall, not bad.

There is no winter from where i live. Usually i just hose them outside, shampoo them then towel dry them after that. I play with them a little and let them stay for a while in my room.

Well you can do what my friend does. He takes his dogs in the shower with him and washes the dogs in the shower. The first time he told me thought, I was like weird, but now I am getting use to it.

We give our dog a bath in the bath tub. He's and inside dog so that's why we give him one inside. HE doesn't like a bath at all and will only let my fiance give him one.

Our puppy :) - We have a miniature dachshund named Tako.
He is very playful and cute.
I am living in NY and while winter it's way too cold to give them a bath at outside as you can imagine..lol By the way I have a year old miniature dachshund.I usually give him a bath in tub with warm water during winter, spring and fall.while summer I have washed him at outside because it was way easier. I give him a bath about once a week:)

Now, I do not have a dog, but when we had we gave them bath in the bathroom, since we did not have house so we could not make it in the garden for example. We never paid anybody to do it...We did not even thought of it... We had a big rotweiler, and a little bathroom. :)

Well I'm lucky both my dogs are little chihuahuas. Gizmo is 2 years old and only weighs 5lbs. Bella is only 8 weeks so she hasn't had a bath yet. I just put Gizmo in the bathroom sink...lol It's like his own personal bathtub..I don't think he likes it much but he doesn't put up any fuss. I guess basically he tolerates it. It's not like he can just jump out cause he knows he's up to high. I try to always make it a nice time so he doesn't hate it by anymeans. I think if he had a choice though, he'd probably just skip it...lol

my maltese was getting a bath every week just about (until I found out it isnt good that often) I give both my dogs a bath in the tub with warm water. the maltese like it until he gets out and then i have to dry and brush all that hair and my terrier/ pom mix hates them and she will hide when i ask if they want a bath.. (so i quit asking)

Same for me. When I had big dogs, I would give them a bath in the tub during the winter, or I'd take him to the groomer if I didn't feel up to it. Small dogs I would always give a bath to in the bathroom. During the warm summer days I would give my large dogs baths outside with the hose. Little dogs don't handle the cold water very well, so I never did that with them.

I wash my dog in the bath tub. Then again she is a small small dog well NOT that small 12 pounds. To wash outside would be um odd. But when we had a bigger dog, she was always washed outside. I was my little Rainbow once a week, she HATES them but after she runs like mad through the whole house like a crazy nut. Its very funny! :))

It depends on the season, sometimes they are hosed and scrubed in the backyard if the weather allows, sometimes in the tub,and lemme tell ya, the hose is much easier, lol.

Our yorkie gets his bath once a week in a bath tub. He really enjoys it and stays quietly in a tub, doesn't try to run. He also likes drying his hair but if it takes to long he runs away and dries himself rolling on a blanket or a carpet. I think he generally likes water and is very curious. When I'm taking a bath or a shower he assists me in the bathroom and tries to drink water from the tub.

Love the picture! I give my dog a "bath" outside with the hose. She doesn't like it too much, but I just can't bring myself to put her in the bathtub. I don't do it as often as I should I must admit.

We have a labrdaor. We use to give her bath inside our bathroom but now that she is very big, we really can't do that now. So we pay somebody to give her a bath. But Sassy, our labrdaor, always love bath time. Seh loves playing with water so she is really playful when she is taking a bath.
