Unfortunately many who say they are mediums or who are "fortune tellers" do this only for money. There are reliable genuine people who do have talents or gifts that are considered paranormal, but those who use this as a means to make money those who are reliable are often classed with the charlatans.

i agree with you my friend, i can usually tell a fake simply by the way they want money when they use their gift. As a rule, a genuine psychic will not charge. Or at least a fake will always charge

thank you for your addition to debate, I have never taken money for sharing the product of my gift, and never will

yes many serious will not charge but then again John Edward is legit and he charges.
The thing is that a good reputable one would also be honest enough to say I can't take your money because I am not getting a reading today if they are not getting anything real. TO many rely on generalities to get them through, looking for keys in body language etc to tell them when they are on the right track of what they are saying.
I am aware that some messages will be more general or more vague, with possiblities.
But then the whole point is that it is all about influences and possiblities not absolutes.
For a psychic, or medium to say something is absolute is key to indicating they are a fraud.

Not all of them are fakes. I had the bad luck of finding a fake. The experience really put me off. I was really depressed by the time I got home. The stuff she told me was enough to make one think of ending it all. She charged an awful lot of money, shame on me. Next time I will listen to those alarm bells. The fakes are so ready to take our money. After that, they really don't care what they tell you. This one tried to get me to sign up for some kind of ritual that she charged over $2000. for. Needless to say, I did not pay it. I wasn't interested in knowing what the future had in store for me. I was going through a rough patch and I was just reaching out. I haven't looked for another one since.
I do realize that there are honest mediums out there. It's just a pity that the fakes are easier to find.

there seems to be far more fakes and they really do exploit the needy or desperate, i really do think they should be prosecuted for doing it

No, not all of them. Probably a great majority of the ones who advertize of beings psychic..but there are plenty of good real ones out there.

no they deffinately are not all fake, though its very sad that so many ppl pretend to be psychics to make a few extra bucks which of course makes us pyschics look bad in the long run! i actually know someone who claims to be a medium, and though im not sure if she is actually a medium, her other psychic skills which ive observed are horrible and she makes things up left and right! but i have another friend who is simply amazing with her gifts! i have never in my life met anyone more accurate then her!

Absolutely not! Some are I agree, specially the ones that you phone and are about £1.50 per minute. I've been to quite a few and they have told me things they could not possibly have known and certainly things you wouldn't know just by looking at me! One could see boats around me - now if you look at me the last thing you would think of is that i'm into boats (Unless obviously I've got my boating gear on!) but she predicted correctly as at the time I was working for a powerboat company!!

thank you. I actually work as a medium, but the whole industry is full of fakers. A good way to tell is if they seem over interested in money that may change hands a real professional will not be too bothered
blessed be

I won't say they are all fake, but lets face it when people go to any Medium they are not there to hear what the weather is going to be next month. They are there because they are desperate and have used up all other resources and that makes them very vulnerable and a easy target for scams. Which in retrospect put Psychic Mediums in a bad and skeptical light. I am specifically referring when someone has a missing loved one. The same goes for astrology, daily postings for all star signs in general gives astrology a bad reputation, but then on a lighter note if they believe in it or not they still read it:)Are humans fickle or what:))))

I think they are fake. I think they just pull somthing out of their butts that sounds good and feed it to anyone who will believe it. Then suck them into paying them alot of money for it.
