Which Lord Of The Rings character would you most like to be and why?

This is a really tough question because there are so many characters, and so many reasons to be them. I have chosen Aragorn because of his bravery in life and love. He is the archetypal gentleman and honourable king. You could not dream a better man and so humble inside of it. His wisdom is second only to that of Gandalf (and considering Gandalf is not of earthly beginnings, that's quite an honour to bestowe upon him!! haha).
I would imagine he is what most men should strive to be were that to notice the genuine true values in life.
But... it may be that you prefer to be a power hungry mongrel like Saruman, or maybe you are gentle and kind like the delicate Arwen, or headstrong like Eowyn or Gimli??
So, which would you like to be and why? And maybe you could include which one you are most like and why? (I am probably most like Pippin or Merry (not because of my height, coz I am 6ft 4 haha) because I don't really recognize responsibility and I am a bit of a fool and love a good ale! haha).
Thanks!

Well i really like your description about Lord of the Rings, after Star Wars i think it is the movie with the best special effects and a good story with excellent characters.
However, i liked the character Golum the best because ....
"me thinks me good and me want the ring for myself, to hell with Frodo" (LOL)......

ok, which one is pippen and which mary? I think part of me (im a girl) would like to be the elf princess. For she represents purity, and love and wisdom... But really, she's too much drama and tears for me.
I'd hate to admit it, because you always want to want to be the hero or heroine, but I guess I'd be most like the Hobbits bride. She laughs and has a nice smile, she keeps home and is part of her community. she is safe from the dangers, (as far as she knows) and lives in a quaint little shire... While part of me LOVES adventure, I can relate to the way tolkin had his hobbits come home. Isn't that what we all want while in the midst of the drama, we want the peace of home, safety, it is after all that which we were fighting for.
So I am at a loss. I guess somewhere between the wise and beautiful Elf, and the simple homespun, fun, hobbit bride.

ok, yes, the bride of Samwise.... she seems like she'd be a wonderfully suitable helpmeet to Sam, encouraging, and supportive, and a good mom to lots of healthy babies... I guess. her... that is who I admire, (supportive roles is where I often fall, long for the glamour of the lime light, but HATE it when I have it... )

FYI, Aragorn isn't merely human. He's of Numenorean descend, for heaven's sake. LOL in that sense, he's of higher origin, way better than mere mortal and lesser men in the world of Middle Earth. Don't forget he's the heir of Elendil and Isildur. That speaks volumes about his character.
I admire Arwen, for her undying love and sacrifice. I like Sam for his loyalty. I enjoy the friendship between Gimli and Legolas.
But I think I'd be Eomer. He's strong, courageous and loyal. I choose him partly because nobody here seemed to care or mention him (LOL!). But he's a great warrior that never abandoned his uncle, King Theoden, when his uncle was controlled by Saruman. Eomer did his bit in the War of the Ring and led the charge against the orcs alongside King Theoden during the Battle of Pelennor Fields.
He's a great warrior on horseback and is feared for his skills with a spear. No one would dare oppose you when you're shouting and charging on horse with a fearsome spear in your hands. lol

I want to be Arwen...
besides being the elven princess that she is... I think I want to have the same relationship that she has with Aragorn...it's so romantic...I can relate to her in a sense that she has everything the world could give her but the one thing that she really wanted is the only thing she couldn't have....

Well... First of all, the most creative book I've ever read, it's a pity that we don't have JRR around now, although his son is doing a good job I feel...
The book is a masterpiece, and I too think that Aragorn is an embodiment of true human sprits... The way JRR brings about his quality is a masterpiece in itself...
My choice would definitely be Aragorn... I like Frodo Baggins too, and as you mentioned, not because that I'm short :-) !!
Have a nice day!

I would like to be Gandalf, powerful yet wise. He also is a very formidable fellow since he is the only one who stood up against the Balrog. He also managed to defend Gondor until help arrives. His true powers are yet to be shown as the ones demonstrated in the movie are just a tip of the iceberg.

Galadriel, because she was a magical elf woman who lived in the forest and could see the future. She seems so mysterious and elegant.

I like aragorn because he is quit operator and very dependable. He is not flashy with superpowers but ture king in a sense. But my chose is Arwen because she is beautiful and with great heart. She doesn't care what happens to her and surrendering her immortality for the sake of love.

Eowyn. I love everything about the three movies but what she said really struck me:
What do you fear my Lady?
A cage. To stay behind bars until use and old age accept them and all chance of valor has gone beyond recall and desire.

I would want to be Eowyn. It's kind of funny how many parallels I have with her. Last year I was in a choreographed stage combat performance and my character was the sole female member of Robin Hood's merry men. I was told that I couldn't fight because I was a girl. But of course I dressed up as a guy and fought with a sword.
In terms of LotR characters, I first loved Aragorn. But ultimately Faramir became one of my favorite characters.
I admire Eowyn's courage and good heart. If it weren't for her I would probably spend every day pretending I was an elf.
