Did you dye your hair while you were pregnant? How far along were you? What were the results?
I usually dye my hair black, but the last time I dyed it I got brown, blonde and red highlights. Now it has grown out about 3 inches and the red highlights have turned BRIGHT pink. I REALLY need to dye my hair again, its looking really bad.
I've heard that its fine to dye hair after the first trimester but I'm still a bit wary. I am in my second trimester, 24.5 weeks. What do you suggest? I dye it or wait until the baby is born?

It's not a big deal to dye your hair at any point in your pregnancy now. As long as the smell doesn't make you sick. There is nothing in the dye that will hurt your baby (unless maybe you EAT the dye!) so there's nothing really to worry about.
I used to be a cosmetologist, well technically still am, just work in a barber shop now. Anyway, there were lots of girls that worked with dye the entire time they were pregnant and it was perfectly safe. Their doctors always gave them the go ahead. It's no longer considered unsafe because the chemicals involved are much safer now. And I've colored lots of pregnant women's hair without any problems. I actually had one whose water broke while I was rinsing out her highlights! She was convinced I sprayed her with water. LOL! But that's another story. Anyway, go ahead and get your hair colored, it will make you feel better about yourself. :)

I dyed my hair when i was in the first trimester. It was growing out and looking all funkey. So i dyed it back to a more natural color for the duration.
Minor speculatory risks aside. it helps your self image which is importaint while pregnant.

From what I've read and was told, you can dye your hair at any time. The reason some doctors say hold off during the first trimester is because the smell might make you sick. Not hurt the baby, just that morning sickness may be worse during then and you may throw up. Me, I've dyed my hair with all three pregnancies. No problems so far.

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and my doctor said it would be okay as long as the smell didn't bother me. I highlighted my hair and the results were the same as they always were - blonde highlights.

you can dye your hair, most dye's are safe now. Years back there was an ingrediant in hair dye's that could potentially harm the baby but it's fine now! If youre a little nervous still, try using semi-permanent dye

You can dye your hair. I dyed my hair when I was 8 months pregnant. They say that the fumes you breathe in will enter your blood stream and infect the baby. But what people don't realize is that you would have to dye your hair every day from conception to birth in order for you to inhale enough fumes to infect your baby. Even if you did dye your hair everyday, that still doesn't mean that it will infect your baby. Dying your hair and getting your nails done while pregnant is safe. Just don't do it everyday. I can't even imagine why anyone would dye their hair everyday anyways.
Just so you know, my information has come from my anatomy professor. He formerly worked for the secretary of defense, trying to counteract airborne warfare attacks. I trust his thoughts over a family doctor any day.
