They both have pros and cons. Gmail has a better storage capacity. But yahoo, specially the beta version, has a better user interface. And yahoo has been serving users for quite some time now. I keep both my accounts from them. For emails with big attachments, I forward it to gmail.

i agree with you. when it comes to capacity gmail is the first, but since yahoo's been there for quite some time now, realibility i go for yahoo.

Thats a nice question. i personally prefer gmail as they are
having lots of features, lots of space, free of cost and also POP support, which is present in other service providers also but they charge to have POP enable..... for all these reasons i am keeping my gmail as the main email ids and others as back ids...

free space. i sometimes wonder how big is the entire storage of gmail or yahoo mail. i can picture a room full of disks just to accomodate their entire users.

I have been using yahoo mail for the longest time, though I have created a gmail account lately I am still happy with my yahoo which I can say is my main email address. There really is not much difference between the two so I don't see any reason to having to change from one to the other.

i agree. yahoo had a niche which is why a lot of users remain loyal to yahoo mail.

I use yahoo mail. I have a gmail account, it's just that i never use it. I don't think it really matters, i think that they're are both the same. I use yahoo because i don't like switching. I think that i might like gmail a little more but I don't think i would like it so much that i would just completely switch my default email adress.
I guess my answer is that i prefer yahoo because i use it as my default e-mail.

I prefer my Yahoo Mail mainly because I have had it for so long and im used to their interface. I did signup for a Gmail account but I never really used it and stuck to my Yahoo account. I have never had a problem with my account and I have never reached the max limit of storage Yahoo offers, so Gmails extra storage wouldn't really be a benefit for me.

familiarity and being pioneer ... that's what made yahoo special.

I prefer gmail, though I have many yahoo id's too, and also have an id on Yahoo Answers and have a 360 page too. I find gmail easier to use, yahoo takes too much time.

I think Gmail offers more space and slower in speed than yahoo so my vote goes for yahoo. No east no west yahoo is best.

loading seems to be slower for gmail. but attaching files seem to be more faster don't you think?

yahoo seems to be the choice of more people for the simple reason that it was older.

Frend heatspine,
Gmail is the best when compared to Yahoo.
Gmail is powerpacked with chat and talk and more importantly is spam proof. Add to that the evergrowing storage size and the frend online indicator.
Hope i have answered your question.
