MyLot discussions get my creative juices flowing.

Often times when I am responding to a discussion it triggers a memory. This memory often finds itself becoming a discussion that I create and post. This sets the foundation for a more in depth writing that I later am able to compose and I post on another forum. I have found that MyLot has become a useful tool in helping me pull from the depths of my mind stories and tidbits of information that I had long ago forgotten. Thank you to all of my fellow MyLotians for helping to bring up the memories that I had thought were buried too deep to find.

I was just thinking the same thing today actually lol. I like writing and reading people's discussions. And as you mentioned, it brings back memories. Just today I was thinking about high school, and how those days used to be. I think it will also help me out with my writing as well.

It also is nice b/c you can discuss the memories online. Offline, my friends and family know most my memories and there's nothing new to tell them, but online I can share anything from my life and it's brand new to most everyone on here :)

I think this is what is so addictive about this site. I enjoy responding to discussions where I can go back in time and recall what has happened to me in certain situations or express myself through humour. I have been lucky to have friends that post good discussions like yourself, so I don't have to spend ages searching for an interesting discussion to respond to. I sometimes post quite long responses if my creative juices are flowing. I also like to see if someone responds to my comments and I will sometimes respond back again, which I have enjoyed with some people. I don't understand those who write about 3 word responses as they do not bring anything to a discussion and there is no way of responding to them. I will tend to avoid discussions where the person does not respond to any comments as this is not interesting to me. I like the ones that extend the conversation, these usually are the best discussions for me. I think, why put on a discussion if you have no intention of responding to any posts. I think I have gone off on one here now. Keep up the good discussions I really enjoy them!!! :)

You are very welcome and hope that you have found some of my topics or comments helpful with reliving or bringing back some of your wonderful memories. I agree that this site has done the same with me and makes me think about my past, present and even my future. That is what I love about this site and giving and receiving advice on different subjects and concerns.

So glad to be of service. Am glad that your internet puzzle is coming together. It is great when all these things work together. Memories are priceless and they will be posted for as long as the net is bound to last. So, you are quite welcome.

Yes it is definitely useful. It really gets my mind going because it's so different than just talking to friends. On mylot, I'm forced to think about clear sentances and make sure what I type comes across how I want it to. When I'm just talking to friends, it's much easier! So I find this site helps my brain and my writing skills as well. When I feel stuck on other projects in my life, I play on mylot and I do ocme up with random ideas that help me. Thank you too! b/c you post a lot of discussions to keep me busy :) I can't think of nearly as many as you.

I find this to be true also. I think memories are a wonderful thing. Sometimes we have them in the back of our mind and need a jult to bring them to the front.

It is funny how the memories come flooding back after I have responded to a discussion.

You are so sweet to say that. I am enjoying it better now, as I am sticking to a handful of friends. I am not interested in the money at all anymore.

Yes a lot of discussions do bring back memories. Some bad but most good. At my age I do have a lot of memories. I have seen a lot of your discussions and responses. They are quite informative.

It is noticeable that 'more mature' folks can make longer replies than the younger folks .. obviously more experiences to fall back on :o)

Hi there ElusiveB, I find this too. Maybe it is because I often post very late at night, but recently I started thinking about incidents and scenarios that occurred around 25 years ago, things I had not thought of in as long. I think cathartic is the term I would use for MyLot.

It's just like chatting to friends .. you get started on one topic and end up several hours later talking about something completely different .. My neighbour rang me last night to ask me to help her buy something on Ebay .. two hours later we were still chatting away but ended up talking about old 1920's actors .. not quite sure how we arrived there but somehow the conversation had slowly changed round

LOL. I have found myself doing the same when yakking on the phone with friends or relatives. Often times we sit and laugh at the subject that we wind up ending the conversation with.

I so agree with you and I hadn't even thought of it until you started this discussion...If it weren't for myLot and my friends here, I fear that I wouldn't get many of my memories back from childhood, etc. There's a history of Alzheimer's in our family; my grandmother on my dad's side has it and it's severe. My stepmother is afraid that he is starting to get it as well and of course I'm concerned about it passing on to me; there are so many things that I should be able to remember now as it is... As long as I have my good friends here, even if I am slowly getting it, you all will keep me going strong. Thank you for starting this thread, Butter. God Bless.

Yes, it is true. Little ideas can be modified further once the clue is there. I love myLot because it contains chips from the entire universe. So many varieties of people, so many diferent kinds of thoughts and so many peculiar types of reactions or responses, allon the same platform. It is amazing!

myLot has really helped me thinking about stuff I usually never thought about it and would never have too. All the posts I make , all the discussions I start need some creativity and some thinking to do. myLot really is a nice site and helps in keeping the mind ticking with the obvious added benefit of earnng some money.

I regard mylot.com as an educational experience. If income can be generated by sharing ideas with other people, so much the better. The important thing is that life is too short and we should make the most of it by getting to know as many people as possible.
