Anyone have any ideas on potty training? My daughter will be 2 next month and she will sit on it but not use it.

Our daughter started showing an interest in potty training before she was 2. We're just letting her do this on her own and encouraging her.

Your daughter is still young yet, so give her time. My daughter showed interest at about 18-19 months. She started going, then stopped, then started again. She will be 27 months and is doing pretty good. I don't push her to go, she goes when she has to, but I do take her to the potty every hour. Also I used rewards. Just let her decide when she's ready and don't push it. She has until she starts pre-school to be fully trained. Good luck.

When you think she wants to go, try to make her sit on the potty. Dont make her think that it is a problem. She should be given time to realize it is relaxing.

Look at your routine and pick out something that she loves to do (maybe go out to the park) and let her know that you can't take her there again until she's using the potty.

Try putting her on the potty every hour and whilst she is on there make it fun, read her a story, play a game she enjoys and if she does anything really praise her up. It worked with my little boy.

Don't push it, she'll go in her own time. Let her decide when she's ready.
