privatE and i mean private!. not to be viewed by anyone else but me!. that is my diary.. my diary is a very private thing to me and i would hate it if someone read it.. anyway i was so shocked when i learned that my hubby has read my diary accidentaly and the things that i have written there are about him and my feelings about him and all other things about me.. so i wrote there what i thought about him when i was mad and i was nasty because i was mad.. and all the other stuff.. he talked to me about it and i was very embarrassed beacause there were things there that was very private and very embarrassing indeed.. and i dont know what to do, he says its ok but its not!. well it is very embarrassing to me.
the lesson here is to keep your private diaries safe and private!.
have you experienced the same?. someone knowing all your embarrassing secrets by accident?. if you do, please share.

Well, Do you know that what is a person's worst enemy? Well one's worst enemy is yourself!
There are a lot of things that are in our minds and hearts. So many things we feel. I mean if all your emotions and feelings are written in a book and is read by everyone, will you survive the ultimate embarassment?
Some things are better to be left untold and your true feeling and content of delicate nature should never be penned down in journal or diaries.
Indeed it may look really good writing personal stuff in a diary but if you are writing all your emotions and personal thoughts and feeling in your diary, then you should also be prepared for the risk on someone coming across it.
I used to keep a diary and my parents came across it and my life was never the same again ..... I have seen relationships get over just because the husband or wife came across each other diaries.
I know I maybe making it sound like the crime of the century but I cannot emphasize enough that if you keep a diary, you should be wary of the risks.

i had one. my boyfriend found it and read through it. he didnt see anything wrong with reading my diary but it made me really mad. a diary is where you write your innermost thoughts and feelings, things you dont really share with anyone, except your diary.
ever since then i dont keep a diary anymore. he still cant see anything wrong with reading my diary so i feel better just not keeping one because i know nothing will stop him from reading it again.
I do miss my diary though :(

I'm sorry this happened to you. I share lots of secrets on my blogs online. Only those who view can see them.
But I havent yet had someone (or I dont think so) read my private diary. My family was never really like that. I havent to them either. I'd hate to have them read by anyone. When I die they will get like burried with me or burned. Some stuff is too private for anyone to see!
I wouldnt think it was OKAY though. Sorry anyone thinks it is! :(

writing a diary is a very good habit it helps us to write our very feelings & feel relieved having written down.
Yes one gets a very bad feeling when one knows that somebody has read it.It is something very intimate your feelings are correct however the best thing now is to overcome that funny feeling & be normal.

What happen to you is a funny story, I think :-), why ? because you keep on keeping secret to your closest person / your hubby ? Haven't you share anything to him - even the embarrassed moment in your life ? Your hubby supposed to be trustable person in your life now. Nothing to remain secret between you two.

nope. that never happened to me yet. it's kinda difficult to keep a diary safe especially if it's written in a notebook or any writing pads. someone might always find it. and well, it's always tempting to flip over the pages of other people's diaries and read them. i know lots of people do this. so, i always try to keep my everyday thoughts in a safer place- my blog.
i have an online blog. though i don't really post blogs everyday of my life, but i usually go there to add new posts. i can keep some of my blogs for public viewing and get comments from people who read it. some of my blogs, i keep private and i am the only one reading them. it's better. i know noone can get through my private blogs because i got the password on my brain.
but as for you, it's okey i guess. atleast, you have written down how you felt during those days when you feel down and sad. your hubby surely understands how you felt more that day. atleast, you had been honest to yourself by writing them all down.

i had a similar experience but this time it was my mom, worst, when she read my diary, it was not accidental at all. i was in high school then and being much younger at that time i kept a journal of my treasured moments especially if these were with my "crush." being afraid that i might be having a boyfriend before the age of 18, any private stuff of mine that my mom can get her hands to are not private anymore. i didn't talk to her for a week and instead asked my daily allowance from my father. i didn't care if she's mad or that she's going to kill me any minute. privacy is important to me and i value it BIG TIME. although years past, i don't think my mom learned the value of privacy at 52.

At one time when I was younger I kept one, but it accidently got tossed in a box and given to good will by my mother one day while I was at school. After that I just keep my secrets in my head. Some one out there read it I am sure.

yes i do have a private diary, But i do not write regularly, i used to write on it when i have to, i think noting your daily routines is not correct, some times it let you down, but you can write some important moments of your life on your diary,
My diary is not private for anyone in this world,

I used to keep a diary and when I still in high school and it only lasted 2 years. The reason why I stop is my hectic life style as a student and my brother keep reading my diary. Now matter where I hides it he will find it. Oh , trust me when I say he is good in finding things. In order to get even with him I read his diary too . Yes ,we both have a diary and when we both read each other diary all the privacy were gone. Luckily I am the type of the diary user that doesn't write my feeling on the diary. I usually wrote even that happen on that day and nothing personal. Oh forget to mention that my handwriting were poor and no beside me and my brother can read it. Yeah, my brother also have poor hand writing and the weird thing is no matter how I scribble he can read it. If you don't want people to read your diary put it in to a save or buy those diary that come with a lock ( you know those girly pink diary with lock and key).

I used to have diary when I was younger...until I found out that my sister had been reading my diary regularly and so I stopped. Now if I feel the need to write or rant about something, I usually write them on scraps of paper, fold them up, and hide them. Or I would type it up and save it in a folder with my school work.
When my sister would read my diary it was quite obvious actually lol. I usually rant and write horrible things about her whenever we fight so even if she reads it a week later, she'll get mad. But I don't really mind that she read my diary before. I never did write things that were important to me down.

Na..I don't have that habit....I mean write a private little secrets in my dairy especially anything concern my real feelings as I know once you write it it will ave a possibilities for other to view it one day and i don't want to have that kind of pressure with me:) I do write airy but it was purely for businesses. I hope you will forget the incident soon as don't let it further bothering you in life and am glad that you did learn a lesson from that:)

People should respect others privacy when it comes to things such as a journal or a diary. However, I once read somewhere that you shouldn't put anything into writing that you don't want anyone to read. Why? Well, someone will find it and read it. So you have two choices, try and keep it private next time, or keep those things to yourself.

Well, it happened when I was young, where my siblings like to be noisey and intrude others people privacy by reading our private journal. So from there onwards, I'm making sure that when it's private, either no one can find it, no one can open it, OR I just don't write it down. lol
Things do happen, sometimes.

i know..but don't worry..men do understand..i know it is a very personal thing...but try not to argue more about it..otherwise the pages will fill up very fast lol..these things happen..men feel just as insecure and jealous as we do..and just as curious if they think we are hiding anything..just explain to him nicely that it is just an expression of your feelings that you feel you need sometimes to keep to yourself..
please take care and don't be too upset..
BIG HUG..
