I have just picked up a training schedule from this website: http://www.halhigdon.com and I have started running! I decided to start with a 10K because 6 miles seems like a good beginner distance to me. Having a schedule has so far really helped me organize and focus on my exercise regime. And, I'm picking up a new sport, too!
The above website also has training schedules for 5K, 1/2 marathon, marathon, and also schedules for those training to walk those distances. He has 3 levels for each one: novice, intermediate, and advanced. I'm doing 10K running for novices. Seems good so far. I hope that I can keep it up for the full 8 weeks.
What are YOU training for?
