Who is the best guitar player alive in the world? In my opinion the best is Joe Satriani.

I think there are so many. I really do love Joe Satriani. Hubby and I listen to him often. Our favorite cd is "Strange Beautiful Music". What is yours? I also think that Eric Clapton is an excellent guitarist. He can really make a guitar scream.
