Would a world without news be a better world?

I find medias and particularly newspaper to be very bias when reporting their stories. Aren't journalists supposed to be chasing the truth and reporting events objectively.
Most newspapers now use this medium as a way to express their own political views using subjective and sloppy arguments to support them.
Did you know that media watchdogs acknowledge that media spinning will influence at least 1/3 of the votes?
The same medias that were once used to fight for freedom and that helped us promote human rights have now made us leazy and we now rely on them and digest every piece of information simply because like my grandma used to say : "if it is written, it is true!"
We now live in a world of preconceived ideas and fear of our own shadow. We know our neighbor before shaking hands and we hate other contries even before blood is spilled.
I do not suggest that we live with our heads in a hole like ostrishes but don't you think that a world without news would be a much better world?
PS: english isn't my first langage so be kind...

Your english is fine. :) I think a world without press would be a good one. Press is a powerful tool to express the people's interests. How would you know if your government is effective without press to criticize? How would you know what's happening around you without the news? I think that press should prevail. Of course, that would be "responsible" journalism.
