It all depends upon how you use them. They are good in an emergency or if you are travelling. Many internet stores accept credit cards and you must have a credit card to rent a car or a hotel room. However, if you abuse them and run them up they can be a nightmare. The money has to be paid back so it may take many years if you are not careful how you use them.

I only have a debit card. I won't have a credit card because I would SHOP SHOP SHOP! LOL There is one bad thing about my debit card though, it will let you over-draw your account...which I haven't done yet, but that's kind of weird for a debit card to be that way. But I guess if I ever have an emergancy...it will be a good thing!

I have several credit cards, but I have learned to use them wisely. I pay off the entire balance on my cards every single month, no matter what. I never charge more in a month than I can pay. I learned the hard way; at one time, years ago, I had a lot of credit card debt. After working very hard to pay it off, I vowed to never let the bill run up and to never pay interest on the cards ever again.

I have a debit card but wont opt for a credit card simply because i dont like spending beyond my means. I dont want to be in debt and pay heavy interest by gong for a credit card.

I do not have a credit card. In our country working people with a minimum salary of 10,000 pesos a month can get a credit card and most of them are buried in their bills. I only have a debit card which I use for receiving money for my business transactions online.

I have one but I rarely use it now. It's mainly for booking things over the internet.

Our family uese our check card mostly but we do have 2 major credit card with low crdit limits and I hope to keep it that way. It is way 2 easy to get caught up in the credit trap this day and time. The cost of goods go up aand up and you wonder who and how you can get what you and your family wants it easy to pull the plastic out. I just think you got to pay for it in one way or the other but I think I should pay in full and not give the credit card giants there fat 9% interest or more in some cases.

yes. i find it better coz i get to see my expenses all lined up. if i had cash on hand, i'd end up spending it all on food. like if we go to the mall, i'd spend most of my money on food without realizing it. the downside of having a credit card is you that you can purchase a lot of things and end up buying things you don't really need after all.

I don't have a credit card, but I have a debit card. I prefer to use debit card now. Because, I don't need to pay the interest. All transaction will be directly debited to my bank account. So, I don't need to confuse for pay some bills.
