I agree with you. It is much healthier to fill up on vegetables and fruit than it is to eat meat.
Not only does that stop you putting on weight it also helps you fend off dieseases such as cancer.

at least twice in a month i prefer to eat meat or chicken or fish. generally i am vegetarian and my fav. dish is milk and green vegetables. i have heard that those person become sick who consumes more nonvege. because our climate does not allow to consume it more. it takes time to digest. on the other side there are lot of green vegetables which is harmless.

You can get a better balanced diet without meat. I read a book (Diet for a Small Planet) almost 30 years ago and have since used the information.
Changing to a vegetarian diet, for me, eliminated a medicine cabinet that was filled to the brim. I have asthma and allergies - prior to the vegetarian diet, I was at the doctors office every single week. Visits to the emergency room were so frequent that the nurses knew me and knew when to expect me (when the air pollution or allergens were in the air).
I'm not saying that doctors or perscriptions are bad, I am saying that you can do a lot to improve your health with natural foods and a change of diet. You don't even have to be as drastic as I was, just add in organic raw foods - fruit, nuts and veggies.
I do have an admission - I'm a junk food addict. So, I created recipes with good ingredients that are completely decadent! I have served my "goodies" to the unwary and one for one, have gotten big surprised eyes and comments on how delicious the food is. So,you don't have to give up good taste for healthy life style.

Yes, that's true. Muscle builders and those who exert a lot of energy are advised to consume more meat. Those who are sedentary aren't supposed to take in much because of the build-up of the fat of the meat in our bodies. Vegetables would be good for such people because it provides bulk (fullness) and eases up digestion. It's been studied that fiber can help prevent colonic cancer which is common in my country of origin.
