Why do people study Chinese?

English is one of the main language used around the world. It is a link language among many countries. Since it is a main language, why study chinese? It doesnt really help does it? mayb they shd teach chinese speakers english instead of english speakers learning chinese. Im sure there will be many people who agree or disagree with me. I think the reason why so many people study chinese is because chinese speakers make up the largest amount of people in the world.
I know english might seem more useful to you, but it depends where you live and where you want to travel to in the future.
