any country other than india which follows vegtarianism??

I am vegan which means I don't eat animals or dairy. I think it is really cruel to eat animals. In this country though there are very few vegans and some vegetarains, but most people really like eating meat and dont understand why they should give it up.

The whole can follow it, it's not just for India. People here in America do it too. I myself do not. I eat both meat and veggies. Why do i do it? Probably because they taste good, and our bodies are made for it. Look at our tetth, we have ripping and tearing teeth. That's for eating of meat. We also have grinding teeth for eating of plants.

Hey i agreed that from relegious point of view hinduism advocates vegitarianism, but that doesnt mean that u cant survive as a vegetarian in other countries, the choice is upto u. Infact ppl. in west where there is no such porhibition by relegion to eat non veg. are increasingly becoming vegetarians for health reasons, n ironically in our country india ppl. are shifting towards non-veg food. (This i read in a survey by a magazine). Even i have seen many ppl.(brahmans) who are strictly prohibited from non-veg food relishing it. I am a non-vegetarian ,but trying to become a vegan in future, not coz of any relegious prohibition but for better health. N as far as sin is concerened ,then even plants have life. The creator created the universe and has made up mechanism to sustain life here, to maintain proper balance, this is food chain. How can we expect a lion to be vegetarian both lion and deer are created by the same god. Also there are poulty birds like chiken(hen),duck, etc. they are domesticate but many other birds are not, all these shows that these are there to maintain a balance. I am not saying therefore we shud eat non-veg. its all upto us, our health preferances, n body conditions.But treming eating non-veg as a sin is not very good idea i feel.
