When you learned to drive? When you got your driver's license?
I waited until I was twenty-one before I finally got my license. I had some driving anxiety as a teen and never wanted to learn. It wasn't until I got a job that had the potential to earn me more money if I had a driver's license that I finally gave in and got my license. Now, I drive all over like nothing, but at the time I remember it was so scary.

The same exact thing is happening to me, except my dad wants me to drive and my mom is kind of not really into the the whole driving thing.. I also cant fail the test because my dad is a cop and I should no all of the stuff already, so if I do not pass he might be a little not happy :)

I got my license when I was 17. I took drivers education in school and my uncle taught me the actual driving. I learned to drive in a really big cadillac that my grandfather owned. My best friend took drivers ed. in school and also had the driving part twice. My mother took her for her license test and she failed. To this day she hasn't tried to get her license and we are both 46.. She's the only person I know that never got their license...lol

You are not alone on this one, I was 3 months from my 21st birthday when I got my license, I too had anxiety about it, but it was worse than that. When I first started driving I noticed that my breath would become short and quick and that my palms would sweat. I went to my psychology teacher at the time and asked him if he could help me, he told me that I was basically having panic attacks, and asked me how I felt when I drove and a few other questions. He said that I actually had a slight phobia about driving and that the only way to get over it was to face it and drive. I am still very careful when I drive today and sometimes I have to unclench my hands from the wheel a bit, but it is not as bad as when I first got my license.

I learnt driving when i was 15.... My mom started saying me to learn driving when i was 14...but my dad was not ready at that time.. It does not matter when you get license all matters is how much are you interested...
If you are not interested then its difficult to learn...

I took driver's ed the month I turned 16 and over Christmas break did all the road course stuff. I got my license in March, 3 months after turning 16 but I only ever drove with my license once. My parents wouldn't let my drive the van we had because the speedometer didn't work. My dad got a new car like the last day of my senior year when I was 18 and he let me drive it. I almost wreaked it because I was used to driving the van not his little Grand Prix. I didn't drive again until I met my husband in June 1999 (4 years later).
I have since gotten over most of my driving anxiety, although I still don't like driving somewhere if I don't know exactly where I am going. I even have no problem driving in Chicago traffic and got over my issues with my dad's car, lol. I drove all last summer while I was staying with him.

I got my license when we lived in Utah...That was when they still had driver's ed in school. I remember it being so much fun; they had a special area marked off in the parking lot where we could practice our skills.
Then, before we actually got our driver's permit they'd take us (3 kids to a car with instructor) on the back roads.
The day I got my permanent license we had so much snow and ice; if you can learn to drive safely at that age (or any age for that matter) on massive amounts of ice and snow, then you can definitely drive in just about any type of weather.

Well I am 21 now and I have been practice driving for quite some time now and pretty soon I'll be taking the driving exam.. I hope I pass it first try... I'm still kinda nervous when I drive basically because I feel like I am being watched closely, but then if I would have to drive alone by myself I know I can make it and could find my own way...

I started to drive when I was thirteen without knowing where the brake is with my dad. And then I learnt in proper driving school when I was 18 and got the license when I was 20.

Hi, I started driving when I was 17(19now). That's with my learners anyway. Then I got my G2 10months ago which allows me to drive by myself. I didnt have any trouble learning to drive I find it very exciting. I love to drive!! I could have gotten my G2 when I was 16 by I've procastinated so I ended up getting my G2 on the age where I became matured!! - meaning like not a teenager anymore.. you know what im saying? =]

I was 16. Well I went and got my learners permit on my 16th birthday and within a few months of taking drivers ed I got my licence. I couldn't live without being able to drive.
I am now 40 and I can't believe how many women my age that can't drive or teenagers that aren't as eager to get their licence like I was. I just don't understand it. I would feel like I didn't have my independance if I didn't drive.

It didn't matter where they were going. I didnt' get my license until i was 18 years old. When i moved in with my future husband. I took my drivers test in he's camaro. lol

I learned how to drive at around 12. I lived in a very small town so my dad would take me out on the back roads and teach me. I got my license at 16. I was SOOO ready to get my license! Living in a very small town, the closest town to have fun in was a 40 min drive from where I lived so I NEEDED a license. :)

I didn't get my driver's license until I was 18. A lot of my friends though got it right when they turned 18 or earlier. I felt left out in high school that I didn't have a license and for almost my whole senior year, I had to take the school bus.
