My kiddos are 11 months and 26 months. I stay at home with them but we have activities we go to 3 days a week. The wind chill here is -7. . .should I skip our activity today? The roads are fine and we won't be outside except between buildings are cars. . .but part of me says why expose them to the cold at all? Any thoughts?

Are your kids ever going to be allowed to play in the mud? Its harmless fun...but I can imagine that might gross you out. Its cold, yes. Do your children have an immune disease? Probably not. Bundle them up and take them out. They need to see other youngsters and be exposed to germs to BUILD UP the immune system.
My daughter DOES have an immune disease and yes she gets sick more often than other kids but allowing her the chance to get sick has helped build up her system. And yes, my daughter loves playing in the mud..

If they were my children, no I wouldn't take them out in those temps. unless it was a half to case. Children sometimes will get sick from leaving a warm house and going in and out of the cold. Be careful. They are really young.

I grew up in the cold and loved it as long as I wasn't cold. So I would say get the kids out so they can enjoy the activities but just be sure they don't have exposed skin and that they don't have cold feet or hands. :)

Take them! Will you be keeping them home once they start school?the cold won't hurt them.....I live in Northern Canada and our temps feel like -40 at times....like my mother use to tell me,dress them according to the weather and the same way you'd dress yourself, the cold won't hurt them unless they tell you NOT to take the kids out.

i think u could still take them just be sure to warm up the car first (which im sure u would anyways) and dress them warm enough. but if ur unsure, you can always also just do something with them at home that would be fun!

I know what you mean. I just joined a gym and my first session was scheduled for Tuesday. My son and I were planning on going there but because of the weather I decided it was best we stay home. And now today, we were scheduled to do some activities at the library and it doesn't look so bad outside, but my husband thinks its better we stay home for one more day. We use public transport and he was told of two ladies who were hit by a bus (at a bus stop) when it skidded on the road....so that gave me plenty reason to stay home today.
In answer to yours, since you won't be outside for any length of time and you do have a car, i dont see why not... totally up to you.

I would still take them. They won't be out in the cold for long and they will get a lot out of doing the activities.
My kids never seem to notice if its cold or not, so I wouldn't worry.
