Or other baked good. It's just gone in the oven.
There on the counter is the empty bowl. Well, almost empty. Because in the bottom there's what you couldn't scrape into the pan, the leftover batter that's still sticking to the sides of the bowl.
What do you do? Are you a good person who won't even touch it? Or do you, like me, happily dip your finger in and have a little. Just to make it easier to clean, of course ;)

I usually scrape the bowl almost clean and put the bowl in the sink and run water in it for later washing. Yes the batter tastes good but it has raw eggs in it so I do ot lick it but did when I was a child.

I agree with the poster above who uses a spatula!!!
I have to admit that I sometimes like the flavor of the raw cake batter better then the baked cake. I know, weird, but I can't help it.
And, yeah, I know, I know, raw eggs...but bah! What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? :)

It's not weird at all to think the batter tastes better than the cake! I tend to agree. Especially if it's chocolate! LOL And raw eggs? Bah! Ya can't taste 'em! Ok, so it's not really the taste most people are afraid of, but whatever. I still say it tastes too good to resist.

Oh, I lick the whole thing out! I can't resist! LOL I usually scrape it with a spoon or spatula or something. Usually not my fingers, but you get the idea. I just can't resist the batter or dough and must lick out the bowl. :)

Grab a spoon! I don't just take a taste, I always scrap the dish clean after the cake is in the oven ;) I almost think it's necessary to make sure the batter taste good! Because if the batter is good, the cake willy probably be good too. At least that's what I tell myself :)

I dip my finger right in and taste! Even though I'm no longer a vegan, I always make vegan baked goods, so I never have to worry about the raw egg!

I never dip my finger in the bowl in order to eat the left-over batter. I use a spatula, it is much more effective at getting the batter out!

I know your not supposed to because there are raw eggs in the batter, but I've been lucky the last 30 years, so I just keep doing it. (What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger; right?)
