during 1994 (wow 12 years ago) my band work at hongkong and at the airport all of us was sent to security area for double check. and the double check has to be one by one and we have to take our clothes off. man it was so embarassing. i will never forget how nervous i was back then.

Try flying when you can't stand up! After 9/11, airport security made me plug in my battery charger (for my wheelchair) while I was still in the airport. If it had been a bomb plugging it in the airport would have just caused the airport to blow up instead of the plane- duh! I've also had my hair unbraided and my shoes removed, despite the fact that I can neither put back on my shoes or rebraid my hair myself. Some idiot apparently put a knife in her braid once! I seriously wonder have many terrorists are disabled?

A knife in her braid, well I though I herd it all, that is amazing.

No, I've never really had any trouble. I went to Florida this past October and I can't remember what airport but at one of them the lack of security actually concerned me. I thought it was very loose, especially considering how security is supposed to be really good now after the 9/11 attacks. They didn't check things very well. I think security should be VERY high at all airports. Maybe it's a pain, but it is necessary, and it's something I'm willing to go through if it means keeping myself and others safe.

I agree the security should be tight. Maybe like you said the smaller airports aren't as tight as the larger ones. Thanks for your reply.

Hi, not really bad but when I travelled from UK to America in 2002 I was stopped at the airport and had my hand luggage searched through - the thing was it took me absolutely ages to pack it all in make-up, camera, video camera you get the idea me being a women anyway they took 2 lighters off me - which is fair enough but trying to pack my bag again was a nightmare lol - It could have been worse I guess!

That is annoying having to repack your bags at the airport, especially after they were so neatly packed the first time. Thanks for sharing this.

Really. I know the airports are doing their jobs but in some airports the security can be a big pain.

I went to Guatemala once and the airport security in Guatemala held me for 2 hours because I am female from Puerto Rico and flew in via California the day before President Noriega was to fly in. I stayed at the same Hotel as he did. I got to see Noriega in person, what an ugly man...It did not make any sense to me but then Guatemala is different and beautiful.
