I took my son two days ago to kinder. Because that was his second week at kinder, I stayed a little bit at kinder to see how he was going and to see if he was OK with separation. While I was staying there was a couple with four kids taking one of their sons to kinder. maybe they got problems before, on the way to enter the kinder, the man took out one cigarette and swore like he did not care with his kids. I was disgusted with what he was doing. He was in kids environment and he even did not know what he was supposed to do. After his wife put the kid in kinder, she was out but that man was still swearing around did not care with the kids around him. I was just quiet though I felt disgusted with what he was doing. But teachers and myself couldn't do anything though we did not like. We couldn't jump into someone's business but this action was not acceptable. has anyone here ever experienced or seen things like this ? What did you do?

If I understand right, this man was around an environment full of 5 and 6 year old children cursing loudly and smoking? And, the teachers could not do anything? That makes no sense to me. Are you in the U.S? The reason I ask is that we have smoking laws here and you can't smoke at a school, first of all. Secondly, those teachers could have definately asked him to quite down the language or leave. They do NOT have to allow that. If I were there, I would have spoken up. I am usually a quite person, but when someone is totally disrespecting me and my children (and other children) I will speak up. I have told people to watch their mouths many times in my children's presence.

Thanks for responding, I am not in U.S, I am in Australia. the teacher looked at him and surprised what he was doing but he did not care with our disagreement look on what he was doing. He just did not care and he did not stay long, thankfully, but what he was doing was unacceptable and he should be banned to coming again to school.
