I heard today on a talk show that some of the classic bands are return.
The eagles, The Police, Genesis and (maybe Wham)
What do you think?
We've seen a return of boy bands like take that. I personally think it will be nice to here these as it wasn't really my time.
Phil collins will be something i'm going to look out for. your views? is this more for the music or money?

Personally i think it all about the money. If not why all them stop and suddenly come back to life? It is because of the overwhelming fans cheering and wants them back? Or they just run out of cash LOL.
Well whatever it is we just wait and hope all this old boyband won't get heart-attack when they are performing (chuckle)

I think some are too.
Although some do appear to be in for the music i guess we'll see if they don't manage to sell many copies.
Thanks for your input buddy,
~Joey

Well being an old dear (LOL!), I was bought up on Genesis, and I remember seeing them at Hammersmith Odeon with Peter Gabriel as lead vocalist, and Phil Collins still just the drummer, way back in the 70's, and also The Police at Reading Festival, in the early 80's. As such, I'm not sure I woud want to see them agan now. Life changes, people move on, they grow older, and they can't possibly look, sound, or act the same as they did 30 years ago. I appreciate it is a good opportunity for younger people like yourself to see someone live you haven't seen before, but for me it's kind of strange watching somthing I loved as a teenager, coming back to haunt me now I'm in my 40's.

I think a lot of these older bands reuniting are going to be a lot better than the boring garbage that's being put out today. Bands don't take risks anymore, they don't have anything to say but "oh woah is me" I'd love the Police for a reunion tour - get soe ENERGY back into music!

Hi Joey, I have a feeling that most of these bands are doing it for the money lets face it most have been out of the limelight for donkeys years so they must be running out of cash! Although I'm looking forward to The Police reforming as they were about in my 'era'! Just not sure whether these bands can come up with the same standard of music now they are 20 - 30 years older!

oh it's definitely money. I am wondering if music companies aren't doing this to reset some resell rights to stop people being able to downoad some of the older music wihout pauying extra fees like you do for newer releases. I have no idea but it is possible.

I think Phil Collins really is a great "Musical Artist", a true musician as he knows how to play all his bands' musical instruments.
I'm still longing for Eagles, I really appreciated their reunion on their "Hell Freezes Over" concert. I like their melodies and how they blend with each other. They are all great rock singers, I hope they do release an album again for the benefit of us younger generations who still appreciate their songs!;)

I really like a lot of the old musical groups. The new music they play today on the radio is just not for me.

Those were some great groups. I'd have to see if they could bring back the old feel, or if they'd have a whole new direction to their music.
I know some of the bands that have been around forever and are still touring are still putting out some great music.
I can't wait to see what will come of this. I don't know if it's for the money specifically - though it won't hurt them! I think maybe they've been out and about for years and maybe are starting to miss the "old days" some too.

I think its cool to think band might come back together. 80's bands have said they might too. It makes you wonder, new music or old? Or both? I think it be fun to see bands that I never got to see together play together even if they broke up for a while :))

The only reunion I'm the least excited about is the Police. I can't stand the Eagles and I'm not a huge Genesis fan (though I can appreciate them). The Police, though... I can't wait to see one of their upcoming shows!

Wouldn't this be wonderful if the old groups got back together and gave us some of the real music that they used to give us in the good old days. I think that this wouod be amazing I certainly would be behind this. No I do not think it is only for the money as there are a lot of people that are not that impressed with some of the modern music today and the old music had a real beat to it and the singers were absolutely terrific. I love listening to this kind of music.

It doesn't really matter to me what purpose they have if they re-form as long as they make great songs. It won't hurt the band members to have something to feed themselves and their families.
I love the Police and if they were to reunite, I just might die... but I won't because I won't be able to enjoy it.

I think they get back together for different reasons. Sometimes a band breaks up because of a dispute, as they get older and they settle their differences they reunite to see if the spark is still there. Some reunite just for the money. Some reunite for the fame, it is addictive to have people screaming and clapping for you. Some do it because of pressure from the public. Some of them are successful when they get back together and some are just pathetic.

well personally, i would really want to hear the police back and performing again. i cant think of a song that they composed that wouldnt let you either dance, sing or sway with it. i think it would be a huge success again if they reformed...

Well, they've always been around, and making music (if you take sting as the police), it's just that they've not been in the spotlights.
Any sucesful band that has been around for more than 10 years is most likely not in for the money, since they have enough. They're probably in for their love of music.
I'm looking forwards to new CDs by the Police and Phil Collins, 2 lifetime favorites!
