he has been the corner stone of our cricket team for over a decade and a half... the stalwart.. the master blaster... the genius.... his highness.. the great SACHIN TENDULKAR... but as recent form would suggest he just seems like a shadow of the old sachin that we are used to seeing, watchin, and worshipping.... i think its the right time for him to retire from cricket... in all glory and all dignity abd grace... what do you think....??????

Eventhough he is not in the best of his form, I think there is a lot of cricket left in Tendulkar. He is only 33 years old and Lara at 36 and Jayasurya at 37 is playing as they are in the peak of their carrers. It is possible for Sachin also. I think now there is no need for sachin to retire. But he needs to concentrate more in the field, especially while facing good length balls.

There are a lot of others in this team who definitely need a replacement, but not sachin. Also the team selection can be in a rotation mode as they do in australia.

Sachin is a big supporter of the indian team we would not think without he in the indian cricket team. he is the only player who is in form from the time he has joined in the team. He has played 18 years of international cricket. he knows when to retire and whats best for him.
As for us we can say even though he is not at his very best he is still playing well or better than many batsmen in the team u cant replace him. So its better for him to stay rather than retire till he losses form or health forces him out.

but hen he is 34 and he himself has been making open statements about him not getting any younger.. is it the lack of confidence or growing old... i definitely think its the latter... and lets not forget .. he is the longest serving criketer in the world.. having played for more than 15 years..

I dont think the same. He will surely emerge as the same sachin in this world cup as he did in the previous one.

I think he should play for another two to three years more, he still have the chances. World cup is a great opportunity for him to make mark. But i think this world will show more of Ganguly than Sachin. Anyways my best wishes to Indian team for this world cup.

i think after this world cup he should retire as he getting older his performance and energy is getting lost
and if he will continue this one day will come he will lose his image in public
so i 'll prefer him to retire

well mate i dont think so.he is not completely out of form.he was adjudged man of the series in the series against west indies which suggests he still has a lot in his kitty.one fine day he has to retire but this is just not the right as many think to be.

i don think so rajiv...he is great n he will remain so...he is back in form scoring century against westindies just in 76 balls....so i don think so he should retire nou..he is goin to lead the worldcup as he is the highest scorer n still he has important role to play fr india in this worldcup..hope he will play well......

I think not... he may not be the one he used to be... but still he is the best amongst the rest... his stay in the team gives a reason of hope to millions ... his single boundary can give joy to the nation...
with such implications still to deliver and thinking of the fact that he can still go along being the best for some 2-3 years mone.. why now...

Ya sachin tendulkar is the master blaster and star of the indian cricket team so far, but in the recent times his form is not so good, he is facing some slight injury also, but still he should be allowed to play the world cup, and his record in his career is also great, he had played enough cricket so far, if he feels his form is not back, it is the right time for him to get retire after the world cup.

I think sachin has the right time to retire after the world cup. This master blaster has scored more then 20000 runs in the world cricket. Also has the highest number of centuries more than 75...
He the ultimate run machine over the years...He save matches several times for his country.
I think this is his last chance where he can be the centrifugel force for winning the world cup for his team.

I don't think it is right time to talk about his retirement (now that you have given all his allocades). And also when the world cup is just a few months away.

Sachin has been the back bone of indian cricket in the recent past. The title the master blaster suggests this.At present he is in good form and it would be good to see him retire after the world cup 2007.
