I think it is great to be able to communicate in lots of different languages and not feel worried when you go abroad.
I only know little bits of french and german, not enough to be able to speak it while I visited there.

i will speak my mother tongue tamil.. and i like to know more language to communicate well when i leave to other regions

oh ,i only speak chinese.its my mother language.and expect english and chinese ,i cannt speak any other language.

Knowing different languages is really important, I think, if one wants to learn about new cultures and people. To really understand a culture i think some knowledge of the language is good. I speak Sweedish, some french, some german + norwegian.
I would really like to learn some greek and italian too.
