I can't remember the brand of my bread maker, but I LOVE it! I actually have to respond as "both" to your question about using the oven or the maker. Mine has a dough function and I have an awesome recipe for hamburger buns. I make the dough in the maker, and then bake them up in the oven. I know that it has functions for sweet breads, jams, cakes, and numerous other things. I haven't used them yet, but I have used the quick bread, dough, and several size loaves functions and they've all been superb! I crave the smell and taste of homemade bread now. My 4 year old starts hopping around as soon as he hears the start beep! He can't wait for it to come out warm! He'd rather have "Momma's bread" then just about any other food or snack item out there.

We have a Morhpy Richards bread machine. We like it so much that we bought one for our friend down in England. I would recommend it to others as it is very easy to use. You can also make jam in it along with cakes. We eat more bread now that we have this. We will never go back to store bought bread. I love the smell of bread baking when you walk in the door. I just made some, so I think I will get out the butter while the bread is still warm........

I don't make bread very often but probably use the bread maker more than the oven. It's nice to be able to just throw all the ingredients in and let it go. Of course with quick breads like banana bread, it's easy to mix up and put in the oven. I have a Toastmaster bread maker. It's ok. I haven't tried any other types so I don't know how it compares.

I own a Breville Bakers Oven, its brilliant. Not only is it a bread maker, it also doubles as a mini oven. It has removable shelves so I can cook roasts, cakes, biscuits in it etc. Im actually thinking of buying another as they arent made anymore but I know a shop which still has one available. When time permits I prefer to make my bread by hand (I was lucky enough to be taught by a bread maker), but when its too cold of I havent the time I use the Bread Maker.

I have a Salton Breadman. I LOVE my bread machine. It saves me time and gets it right every time. I don't even buy bread from the store anymore, I make it all myself.

I have a WhiteWestinghouse machine that I bought about 6-7 yrs ago. I haven't actually baked in it for probably over 2 years now. I use the dough cycle at minimum once a week and then bake in the oven. I have tried kneading dough by hand and it never turns out, so thank goodness for the bread machine. We use it for breads, pizza crust dough, dinner rolls, pretzel dough, pita breads, etc. I think most all machines have the "dough cycle", but it is something I would definetly look for.
