Pregnant at 41!

February 16, 2007 10:18am CST
I've just found out I'm pregnant for the second time! My son is nearly 21 so the gap is very big. Is anybody else in this situation?

Congratulations! The gap may seem wide, but it is your own life and the life of your family that should matter to you, and not what the world thinks. I remember when my wife was preganent for the fourth time, this was when I was 38, I had a lot of people telling me that I was a fool. I did not care and neither did my wife. We had two surving children when the the youngest child was born. Ten years later, I think he is the joy for my entire family - my oldest son is 21, while my apple of my eyes, my daughter is 19, well life is dull and sad when this child goes out on an overnight picinic or stays at a relative's place for a couple of days.

I've not been in your situation, but I want to wish you a very happy and healthy pregnancy! Have you told your son, and what does he think about a new sibling?

congratulations, this is great news for you. I haven't been in your situation but I have a friend who has a 5 year old and a 21 year old. Her son is at university and visits her during the holidays and her daughter has just started school. It works really well for her and she has no problems in fact it is easier for her now the second time round as she doesn't have to work like she did before. Lots of luck.

I have a cousin, 43 years old. She has two son's, the youngest is 18 years old. Before this pregnacy she actually experience a miscarriage 4 years ago. Right now she is enjoying her pregnancy. But as i myself who undergo already two pregnancy would advise you to always take of your self and the baby. Always visit the doctor because it is not very normal to have a baby in your age right now.
