I am an Indian with PCOS, living in EU. I have been experimenting on various diets and finally sticking to low carbohydrate, high protein, fruit and vegetable rich diet....that suits me well. Just curious to know what other guys with this condition are trying.any recipes and suggestions for diet are welcome.

I have heard that a low carb diet is the best for pcos. I tried it for one day. I didn't fully research it and I was so sick about 8 hours in with a headache I thought I'd die. I found out that is normal and you can do things to treat that or help it...after the fact. I also hear that chromium can help drastically. I found a drink FUZE that has it in there and has little to no carbs. I've also heard that very short walks 2-3 times a day will help because this helps in the sugar metabolizing.

Yes, we have Fuze here in Australia too but while i love it, I found it raised my blood sugars. It's made of apple juice and other natrual things. Might work perfectly well for you but be aware it didn't work for me (I love the cola flavour - no caffeine)
And you will definitely get headaches when you start severaly cutting down carbs, but after a few days they will go and you will find it easier. Good luck!

hi, i too had PCOS problem. well when i contacted a gyneac, she suggested me metformin tablets. i too had them , but they will not actualky help in curing the problem. actually , i did yoga. i feel it has helped me a lot. actually PCOS is believed to occurdue to changed food habits and lack of physical exercises. yoga actually helps in good blood flow in the uterus area. infact i had the fear if i would conceive. i thought i have to take doctor's advice to conceive. but by god's grace i conceived and now i have a baby boy. i feel u too can try yoga. i feel it is a natural remedy for PCOS . ofcourse be careful about ur diet.

I am older than you so I have different requirements to keep my PCOS under control. I found that the only way I can lose weight is to eat a carbohydrate controlled diet, eat more protein and fruit and green vegetables. Three years ago I had a series of operations and following that I now have diabetes, high blood pressue and high cholesterol. Previous to that I had high bloo pressure from age 15-33. It diseappeared after i had my sons (through treatments)
Good luck with controlling PCOS. It's a hard slog but you can do it!
