I really don't know as their are 5 of us at home now, but am going to estimate that $50 for 2 people wouldn't be more than 3 days. That is if your counting all 3 meals a day. I don't know how expensive food is where you are but it is ridiculous here and even being frugal I still spend a fortune per month on food.:)

If you are talking about fifty dollars then it is a good amount in indian ruppes for two persons diet it should go for around 20 days. For 50 indian ruppes it would be just enough for a meal.

fifty bucks would buy my entire family (four people, our three dogs, and our cats) food for two weeks. Off brands in the U.S. can be pretty cheap..a can of cat food for twenty five cents, a two liter of soda for a quarter..a box of fish sticks for a dollar. Off brands usually taste better because they seem to be made healthier too.. Lol..when you live like my family's had to you learn to make money stretch. I'm still surprised people can spend nearly two hundred dollars for ONE week..that's scary..a whole bunch of money that could be used for something else, methinks.

I went to the story this morning and spent 120.00 US dollars on food for two people. It should last us about a week. However I spent almost as much on food for my animals somehow that just doesn't seem right...lol It is so hard now to live on a budget with rising prices it is a little scary to think what the future will hold. I am impressed that you can do it on 50 dollars. :)

Actually it very much depends on what kind of food you are eating and where you are doing your grocery shopping. We are not that picky about food and we don't go for very much expensive stuff. May be for me and my husband we can buy food for 5-6 days with $50.

well I am from India.... if you talk of one single time meal for a single person it would go for around 50 rupees.... a bit lower quality can range to even 20 - 30 rupees.... but definitely not less than that.... so I guess whichever place you reside ismore inexpesnive than India.... Anyways congrats for a good earning friend...

One week here in the Philippines. It could last a month if you're happy with sardines and noodles. With me though, just one week. I like to eat things I love.

I would say 3 days.. maybe more... I spend around $100 a week but that includes the must haves ..like toilet paper, shampoo and that kind of stuff... and my hubby's snacks.. he is picky.. if it was just me and the two kids I probably could do my whole weeks shopping on $50.... we aren't as picky...lol men..hehehehe

I could probably buy about a weeks food for me and the kids for a week with that money. I usually spend about £40 for 2 weeks in the month on food and about £10 the other 2 weeks so that would work out about the same. That is just our basic food though, not treats and the more expensive vegan foods that we get at the health food stores.

I would say that I eat quite well. Normally out of Marks and Spencers and when buying dinner for two out of there can cost about $30. This is a nice dinner though. The cheapest i could probably get dinner for two is about $15 but thats not too tasty. I live in the Uk and a loaf of bread is $2 so that gives you a clue to how much stuff is and a tin of Heinz baked beans is over $1. I think food here is quite expensice but when I went to Canada it was about the same.

I could probably do that, as well. I take some of my support clients to do their shopping. There are two of them in each group, and normally we spend under twentyfive each for a whole weeks' worth of food. Some personal and cleaning items as well. Of course that does take into account the fact that I check to see what is on hand first. There is quite a bit of a build up of staples from before I took this position.

I spend about $120 for about two weeks, for my three children, hubby and me. I live in america. and it just depends on what type of foods you are looking for.

It all depends on where you shop for the food in the United States where I live. I cannot get very much at say Walmart but if I go to a store that isn't so expensive, we can eat also on about $50.00 per week and that includes feeding my daughter also. but some of the cheaper store do not have all high quality foods.

Here in the Philippines, 50 bucks would go a loooong way! The dollar conversion here is $1 = P48 pesos. It can last a week or more if you're not a picky eater. Food here is very cheap, thank God :)
