WHen do you decide whats for dinner that night... do you have dinners planned out for specific days of the week or do you just wake up and say we are having this for dinner... or maybe you don't decide until its time to cook something... I think I am a combination of all those.. when i go shopping I plan meals enough for the week ... then somedays i know what i'm making in the morning then others I wait till its time to cook then I decide... which way do you do it..??

When I go shopping I have a rough idea of what I plan on making all week and buy supplies accordingly. Of course sometimes that changes drastically as the week progresses. I usually dont decide what I am making for dinner until it is about time to start it. Though on occassion there is just something that sounds good so, I have my mind made up from the morning on. So I suppose you could say I am a combination also.

It is always a problem for me. I never know what should I cook. When I gp shopping, and I see some nice chicken, or fish,or pork I buy it. I hold it in the freezer. And ifI do not know what to do, I just close my eyes put my hand in the freezer and take out something. I never spend too much time with thinking. Sometimes I ask my friends what they make. Or sometimes the greengrocer gives me advices. She is very kind, and she has always good ideas. Unfortunatelly my boyfriend sais his requests only rarely... But HE EATS EVERYTHING I MAKE!!!

usually i do my grocery shopping in the beginning of the week (like on a sunday). i buy cheap food cause im a poor student and can't afford anything too expensive! so usually i just buy a ton of veggies, eggs, chicken/fish sticks, and healthy snacks. since i dont have a lot of choice on meals, i usually end up eating similar or the same things every day. it gets boring after a while, but its what i gotta deal with right now because im on a tight budget.

I usually know what to set out for the next day to eat but all food gets so old tasting to me. we get burned out of eatinf the same ole food over and over. even restaurant food gets old. Sometimes I set food out and then we don't cook it or want it and end up eating something else.

Dinner is planned for me as I am driving home. I try and decide what I am making or if we are eating out. Somedays it is to hard to try and cook because I have to run the kids around to different activities. I love the summer because then my husband does the cooking and it releaves a lot of the stress. He loves to barbecue.

I'm horrible at planning meals ahead of time. I consider it a victory if I remember to take meat out to defrost in time to cook it (in fact, I usually do it as I stand there thinking "Well, that won't be thawed for tonight, I guess it will be tomorrow's dinner!") When I grocery shop, I just try to stock up on all the basics and then throw something together when I get home; or I say "heck with it" and heat up a frozen pizza, which I always have in the freezer. It's a good thing I don't have kids, they would be so malnourished....

I used to plan meals for the whole week, then go to the store to get everything for the week. Now days you never know until you pull it out of the freezer, cupboard, or go to drive-thru. Only my son and I at home and neither of us are on the same schedual so we just get what we want when we want.

Sometimes i decide my dinner the moment i wake up, but sometimes i wait until an hour before the dinner time then do i make a decision. It all depends on the mood of the day and also the weather. Colder weather would induce me to have spicier dish

i remember my days in the dormitory. we can't ask for what we want. we just eat what is being served. and i am glad that i have extra food inside my room so i can eat something more after dinner since i don't usually like what's being served.

I have most of the week planned, but allow room for changes. However tonight's dinner is:
Sweet & Sour Meatloaf
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons butter
1 onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon hot sauce
2 pounds ground beef
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the onion, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, and hot sauce. Cook and stir 5 minutes, until onion is tender.
In a bowl, mix the onion mixture with the ground beef. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, or to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Sometimes I decide a night's dinner one day before. Hence, I'll have ample time to prepare the ingredients in the morning of that day. Sometimes I don't bother at all, because if I have leftovers from the other meal, this is what I'll have for dinner. There's no need to waste anything nowadays.

I normally get in and then look what i could make, i think that when you plan too much, then it takes away from the excitement a bit.

I dont decide until its time to eat. Its only my roommate and I. Sometimes we go to the store and buy dinner for one night and come home to cook it right away. My mother is a combination, she sometimes plans, she sometimes decides right before she prepares it. Not much thought goes into my dinner.
