Where do you get your antivirus program?
I downloaded from the online.
What anit-virus program are you using?
I had used antivir 2007, but I removed it because of its demo. So I try to use AVG free edition and Bkav2006 now.
How often do you keep scanning viruses?
I have just scaned it. I understand that the computer has become slow down because of the trojan horse PSW.Generic2.QEO in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CsdDriver.sys
I have to heal it all the time when I open the IE browser... even a notepad

Thanks, I downloaded it, I installed it, and couldn't register it, I think it may be too heavy for my computer CPU 2.0; RAM256 to load that program. It was slow, or it could be the internet server updating in my country. I removed and reinstalled my windows.

Are you talking about Spybot? I used it, but my computer broke down. I took it to the IT guy at my college and he said it was because the Spybot was not getting near as many dangerous objects off of the computer as it should. Until then, I thought it was sufficient.

I use AVG as well. I feel confident it is working just fine. I used to use Norton and McAfee, but they got too expensive. I run the fast scan every time I log off, and the full scan every other day. My computer stays quicker when I do that.

Sometimes virus take so much work to get it off the system, I searched for the virus you were describing and I found some helpful information. First, I would recommend you follow the advise on this forum and if it doesn't work then you should post a message on their forum to help you clean the computer.

I also use AVG anti-virus because it scans fast and seems not to use so many resources like Norton and other commerical software. I would still like to have some good cheap commerical software that works just like AVG but have yet to find any.
Have a nice day.

yes AVG is a good choice, I'm using it for years and it saved me from a lot of problems, you must keep it as "resident shield" and active all of the time and you can do occasional full scans/tests from time to time or if you suspect anything..

Hello, I am currently using AntiVir Classic Free Edition. It works well for me and it is very light on resources. I am very much satisfied using this software and I can totally say that since using this one, I have no problems or troubles at all with respect to the virus and other suspicious malwares.
For your problem, you can visit www.bleepingcomputer.com and/or www.geekstogo.com, where you can contact one of the HJT experts there for assistance. Just be sure that you have to follow all instructions that was given to you.
For prevention, the most important thing here is to have a firewall, antivirus, and antispyware as well as safe surf for you to be fully secured. Of course, not to mention that you have to be vigilant when surfing the net and/or downloading any unsecured or unknown files or software.
Have a nice day ahead of you!
Regards,

Obviously commercial anti-virus program is costly especially when you are living in a third world like me. Here a regular anti-virus costs about 8,000.00 pesos (McCafee) that almost about $167. So I'm relying on free stuffs but taking enough caution before installing anything to my computer. Not all free stuffs are good some of them can harm your computer or could be another malware check this: http://fileinfo.prevx.com/QQ7abb15336657-BKAV5095518/BKAV2006.EXE.html
it says that your Bkav2006 is actually a harmful spyware or malware.
Before I tried AVAST and it was good but the problem was it 's taking so much memory that crippled my PC. So I switched to AVG and it looks fine until I encounter Active Virus Shield that is powered by Kaspersky. This one really rocks with the reputation of Kaspersky what you can expect.

Thanks for ur info. I had had no choice since I didn't have the free Antivirus. I think the Bkav2006 can stop the Brontok virus very well. I rely on AVG and SuperAntispyware and also AlarmZone now. My friends' computer don't have the internet access so they like the light Bkav2006, it kills 13 viruses last week. I also have the free Active Virus Shield from the Kaspersky, and McAfee, but I don't install them now. I used to install McAfee, I showed DLL virus...

Most of the antivirus nowdays comes with onprotection which means that they automatically protect your computer while you are on but still scanning is impotant and you should scan atleast once in a month. If a virus is showing many times then it may be spyware. so you should install a spyware and check for any spyware.

+Your hint is very useful. AntiVirus should have a Antispyware software installed; so only Avg antiVirus will be not enough. Although I use SuperAntispyware, I found 24 Adware.cookies. I couldn't open the web site, so I use Full scan from Free Window Registry Repair to fix errors them. Then it works.

I use AVG too. I think that scanning your computer one a week is sufficient.

My husband bought a cd for our pc, its the best anti virus for us, very accurate and with everyday update in the internet..it can easily detect the virus and can classify if its threat or risky virus and of course very accurate in fixing the problem when it comes to the virus unlike other anti virus that have the hard time of fixing anti virus..

Well i think you should try to scan your pc with Avast antivirus free edition but if it doesnt works then you must have paid edition of McAfee or norton to remove this virus from your pc if you cant do it then you will need to format your windows to reinstall it again .........
I am using pirated professional edition of Mcafee anti-virus which seems like perfect since i am using it ...........
you can also share genuine software by sharing it from any sharing site or limewire .........

I advice you to use " AVAST,NOD32 OR QUICK HEAL ".I particularly use nod32.All the 3 of them are the best ones, cleans your system & doesn't trouble you.One think you should keep in mind is that always keep your antivirus up to date because new threats are arising every second & it is necessary to protect your pc from these threats.
