what should be better for my mom?

I'm going to buy a gift for my mom. I'm going back to school at this end of month and will can't see my mom for 5 months,and she's very upset on this. I love my mom,but dont know what to buy for her to comfort her, please, give me some advice,thank you!

Will she be able to reach you by phone? If so, I would think aboput making her a little gift pack that includes a phone card, stationery for letter writing, and even some nice tea. You could also give her a scrap book with some pictures of the two of you.

The fact that she is upset because she won't be seeing you for the next 5 months, get her something that reminds her of you. Or better still treat your mom like how you would treat a long distance partner. Write her notes every night you spend away and mail them by post every week.

This is very hard to decide on something like this. I suggest getting her something that defines mothers. that would be really nice.
