I love to bake. If I could just bake and get paid to bake, I would probably do it, but I would also have some serious problems because I'd love to eat everything I baked.
One of my specialties has always been zucchini breads. I have about 5 different kinds of zucchini bread that I make and my family just loves it. I've even had people who swear they hate zucchini bread fall in love with my loaves.
So what about you? What's your specialty?

There are a few different things that I like to bake, that I believe are my specialties. I personally enjoy making a lot of different cakes, cookies and as well I like making apple crisp. I always try to challenge myself when I get bored with making one type of cookie or cake. When this happens I'll usually go online or consult my nearest cookbook and pick out a recipe that I believe I can make. And alter it a little bit to make it my own! . .
Then I'll go ahead and make the cake or cookie recipe and I can say that for the most part the recipes I've picked in the past all turned out and tasted really good.
I've been praised quite a bit for my chocolate chip cookies and how good they are. I constantly get that from my other half who is most likely my biggest fan when it comes to my baking. I found the recipe online almost seven months ago when I decided I wanted to start baking things and it was an easy way to get back into the swing of things.
The recipe I found we had lost one time and we totally freaked out because we liked the cookies so much. We ended up finding it again which was quite a relief because we might have lost the best chocolate chip recipe we had ever found. They turn out very chocolaty and chewy every time I make them for us. We were actually so happy we found the recipe again we wrote it down in our homemade cookbook so we never lose it again.
I also from time to time will bake peanut butter cookies. I've never made them before in my past so when I did indeed try to make them. They turned out rather amazing & still do each & every time I make them. They are so moist, but also not to over-whelming taste wise. I've actually had relatives be so impressed with the cookies I have made as they have told me various times that.. They have never been able to make peanut butter cookies like I have without burning them..
They've also told me that there's tend to always crumble, unlike mine. They said they like the cookies I bake so much that they have offered to buy me the ingredients for me so I can bake them for them. Or buy some off of me.. I've never had people rave about cookies as much as some of the people I have made them for. It truly is a very rewarding feeling knowing that I had baked cookies that everyone seems to like.
I also enjoy making cakes. I recently bought a little 9"x9" cake pan and I've used it a few times since then to make a couple different flavor of cakes. For Valentine's day I baked a Cherry Chip cake mix and decorated it for my other half. He really liked it and for a cake mix he had never tried before he told me we had to get it again. I had also made a chocolate cake mix before that one and I was worried about it at first because it seemed like it wasn't baking properly.
After a while and a few more times checking it, it did turn out and it was most likely one of the cakes that I have found to be rather moist that I have had the pleasure of making. It didn't even need frosting, which I put on it anyways. My other half is my taste tester and he absolutely loved how good it was.
The other dish I bake that is really tasty and pretty simple to make is Apple Crisp. I hadn't made it for the longest time and I think it was because both me and my other half were talking about it one time that made me want to bake some of it.
Anyways, we had the ingredients for the most part and with the exception of having to get one or two other ingredients I went ahead and made it. It turned out way better than we had expected. We actually have the craving for it again because we haven't had it in such a long time. I want to make it again because I do believe it is one of my best specialties.
I love trying new recipes as well and I feel that sooner or later I will run into more recipes that I can add to this list. I believe that I like a challenge and that some of the recipes I have picked were nothing but that.
So, in conclusion I believe that all of these recipes or things that I make are my specialties. I hope that in the future that I can add more items to my list of specialties. I like to try new recipes all the time so I never know when I'm going to stumble upon another item to add to that list! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

It's actually pretty easy. You can find about million recipes for it online. Most of the prep time is shredding the zucchini, but after that, it's just mix and bake. I found that if you add a bit of lemon juice and a smidge extra baking powder it lightens it up a bit, as it tends to be a a rather heavy bread.

I hope it doesn't end up flat as a pancake, but I bet it would still taste delicious. Let me know if you decide to make it and how it turns out!

Yesterday I made a super easy and so delicious cookie and I thought I would share it:
COOKIES

2 egg yolks
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
FILLING
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup margarine or butter
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
1 egg white, slightly beaten
In large bowl, beat 1 cup margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1/2 cup corn syrup and egg yolks; blend well. Stir in flour; mix well. Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate 1 hour for easier handling.
In small saucepan, combine powdered sugar, 1/4 cup cup margarine and 3 tablespoons corn syrup; bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans Refridgerate 10 minutes.
Heat oven 375'F . Lightly grease cookie sheets. Shape dough into 1 1/2- inch balls. Place 2 inches aparton greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375'F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Brush dough lightly with egg white. With spoon, carefully make deep indentation in center of each cookie; fill each with 1/2 teaspoon filling. I guess my specialty would be my pumpkin pie. I also make my own pie crust with lard. I have given in to making this more often than to just make it at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I do love it so I really don't mind. It is not always easy getting my hands on the pumpkin though.

My husband and I were just talking about using lard to make pie crusts, and how it's really the best stuff you can use because the crust is so flaky and delicious. Now I'm hungry for pumpkin pie. I might have to make one!!

I really don't have any specialitys. My dad says I make a great apple pie though. Right now I'm more into simple cookies and bars. I'm also trying to perfect my kringla baking skills so I can show off to my aunts who have been baking them all their lifes. I'm even using my grandma's recipie (their sister). It calls for milk but during Christmas time I used eggnog and they turned out pretty darn good. My real problem though is I'm having beginers luck. The first time they were awsome but after that they just seem to be OK.

I love to bake too and of course you have to sample everything you make so you know its of good quality.lol. My specialty is sugar cookies but I make them different than most people. I put mine in a cake pan and then cut them into squares. They are really good. When I was younger, me and my friends always made them and we had to taste the batter too.lol. Recently one of my friends was complaining that she can never get her cookies to come out like mine did and she has the same exact recipe. She wanted me to come over and bake her some.

Banana Bread and Zucchini Bake (similar to a quiche). My parents own a bakery so 'baking' runs in the family. My Anzac biscuits are always a favourite at the school fete along with the lamingtons. Could I have one of your receipes??? I love different recipes for a vegetable which most don't like, including my 2 boys!!!
Cheers

I only make a few things from scratch. Harvest cake and russian tea cookies (I'm sure these have other names, too) are my favorites. The tea cookies only have 5 really cheap, common ingredients (unless you add nuts), so they are good to make at the last minute without having to go to the store.
The harvest cake has nuts and apples in it and takes a bit more prep time, but is always popular.

I don't bake much any more because I live alone, but bread used to be my specialty. I developed the perfect white/whole wheat recipe and usually kept the family stocked with bread. I also liked to make yeast-risen sweet breads, biscuits, and specialties like bread sticks.

I like baking little cakes with my kids. They love to join in, but they usually end up a different recipe every time and some are more successful that others.
The recipe of mine that is liked the best is my fruit cake.
If you are interested the recipe is here:

Thank you for that recipe. I will check it out.
I didn't bake with my daughter much when she was little. I kind of wish I had, but I do now, and she loves it.

I know a lot of people who love to bake, even though they don't eat it. It's a nice gesture to bake goodies for your loved ones.
