Have you ever heard the expressions. There is no such thing as a free ride? There is no free lunch. The only way you are going to be able to make some real money is by working for it. These online jobs that are offered like this one here are not going to pay you enough to support a family let alone yourself. They are not even part time income. Unless of course you are independently wealthy and do not really need the money. Jobs like this one are good for extra money to save for Christmas, Vacations or whatever you like to save your money for. You can make more money by picking up pop cans along side of the road. When you see someone wanting you to sign up for something with a link provided, you need to check it out. See how much other people are getting paid. Most of the click through programs that really did pay are gone now. They are gone because people abused them and cheated. Just like the people here abuse this place. By writing two words or posting stupid discussions like what did you eat today. Etc. If you want to make money by using your computer then sell on Ebay at least you can really make some money doing that. Or there are other auction sites out there. Just remember if it sounds too good to be true. IT IS.

I agree with you you as far as scams go.But there are some honest sites out there.I joined a site for free and thought I would try it.It has been over to months and I actually have been paid directly to my paypal account evry 2 weeks.I have to promote sites and there is alot of work involved.I have also paid for some sites and have never been paid.I will never pay for anything again.I am committed to the site I work at.If you would like to give it a try it is on my website http://www.freewebs.com/moneybagads.It is the first site listed it reads"Residual Income-no cost to join..."

I agree with most of what you said. I get tired of people complaining that mylot doesn't pay enough. This wasn't meant to be a job I'm sure. There are some great online businesses out there though. Ebay isn't the only way that works :)

Yes there are some great online business's out there but there are so many that are not legit that it is hard to find the legitimate ones. So you have to go by word of mouth. When the dot comes failed a few years back so did most of the good money making opportunities. But you can make money on Ebay, you just have to work at it and research what is selling and what it is going for. The big business;s now are selling on Ebay and it has made it much harder for Joe blow to make money there. But it still can be done. Thank you for your response.

true. this isn't a job. it's just something we do because we get fun here, we meet people everyday, we connect to others around the world. the payment we get is just a great bonus for us.

i had been reading lots of complains here in mylot. complains about how low the payment per response and discussions are. complains about not showing us the calculations to the payments. complains about the ups and downs of the earnings. complains about the very low earning people get per day as payment. and so on and so forth. wherever we are, whatever we do, we work hard just to earn a certain amount. when we work in an office, we work 8 hours per day, 5 or 6 days a week just to get our salaries. we don't just sit down, eat, drink and wait for the payday and get paid for just doing so. we work our brains out, we exert efforts and then, we get paid. that's just like that here in mylot. we spend time, we share ideas, we put our brains to work, we get tired, we get stressed and then, we get paid. there's no magic in earning money everywhere. instead of complaining too much, why not work more if you want to really earn more? you are right onabreak, people abuse the system and cheat for as long as they can. but then, the site goes down. who else are the victims? still the members. let's just try work, share, read, post, think, type, and then, get paid every month.

Yes and this site like all the other ones that have gone along the way will go down too if people do not keep trying to beat the system . Report anyone you see doing this. Thank you for your comment.

Yes and you will hear the expression many more times in your life time. MyLot wasn't made for people to earn money to buy food for a whole family. It's just something you do in your free time. As some people just said the money is just a small bonus. By the way has anyone even got payed by MyLot?

You have it pretty much right on. If it's too good to be true it most likely is. That works for me, but I have also been part of things that really did seem too good but they were real. So you really have to do your research so you know what you are getting into. I have a great time on eBay when I sell and I love to buy things for nothing and sell them elsewhere for more.

It kind of seems that way but there are people that have to work from home. The computer is a easy way for them. I have no gripes with that. But if you can work outside the home then get a job. Thank you for your comment

Yes for the most part almost everything in this world that sounds to good to be ture is but every once in a while something that sounds to good to be true does end up being true but your chances of that are very slim. However I would have to agree with you that i have tried so many things to make money online and mylot and ebay are the only ones that paid. I have another work at home business but it is not all online. To many people put so much hope that they can get money for doing nothing and they set their minds that they can find it and pass up opportunities that would work for them, but that they would have to work for. I see it all the time when I talk to people who think that their really is something out there they can work at home and make $5,000 plus their first month. Please get a clue people. Work is called work for a reason. You got to work to make more than pocket change. I guess the income people get here counts for more in other countries but in the U.S. really none of us here are here for a living. But still to me Mylot is in a sence what i would have called to good to be ture when I first tried it out. I get to basically chat here and make money (even if it isn't much) After trying so many other things I was shocked the day I got paid from mylot. I thing that mylot is the exception... It sounded to good to be true and it turned out to be true.

I agree with you that if something sounds too good to be true it usually is - having said that there are ways to earn a good income online - though you do need to put in a lot of time and effort to achieve it - and it's not going to be by reading emails or surfing pages etc. For those that are prepared to approach working online like they do working offline and not expect to get rich overnight there are ways to do it. You need to make sure you thoroughly check any site/program out though - check that is offers you the support you will need - there is a way to contact others in the program etc. The problem comes when people join program after program looking for a way to earn a lot of money without doing any real work for it.

I agree with you. Anyone who thinks they can make a real living off of a site like this is sadly mistaken and I don't believe any of these sites are set up to provide people with an income, but more as you said, a few extra dollars and a way to pass the time. I am a firm believer in if it sounds to good to be true it usually is and Tanstaafl is a favorite saying of mine. This site is a great way to make a little bit of pocket change, but really that's about all it can ever be I think.

You're right in that you have to be very cautious in joining certain programs. One always needs to read through the terms and conditions, privacy policy, etc. before they make a decision. I think most people who join things like MyLot and survey sites are pretty aware that they're not going to be making money to pay the bills though. Like you said, some of these sites are a nice way to make a little extra pocket money. For me, MyLot is a fun place to have discussions, find out what's on people's minds and offer a little support to someone if they need it. The money earned isn't so much the issue, though it doesn't hurt. Ebay is a nice auction site and I've sold a few things there. But they seem to keep raising there listing fees and it's nearly impossible to contact anyone if there is some kind of technical problem. Then again, nothing's perfect. I've heard Amazon is pretty good for selling things but I've never sold anything there yet so I'm not sure what they're like. Thanks for bringing up some important points.

Thank you for your response. I have sold on Amazon, it is a great place to sell books. Yahoo seems to be a place where people have been kicked off ebay go. But you can still give it a try. Every once in a while it works too.

I agree with this completely. I have tried to check some of these extra income schemes out several times. The only persons making the money are the people who run the websites. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

Actually, I CAN'T make more money by picking up soda cans. Now, I'm going to take a wild guess that you probably live in Michigan, judging both by the fact that you consider picking up cans to be a way to get some extra cash, and because you use the word "pop" instead of soda. I used to live in MI, and yes, returning soda cans there is a good way to get some extra cash. But in most states, there is no can refund. I see a can by the side of the road, I'm thinking "People are disgusting for throwing their trash out," not "Someone just threw away 10 cents."

No actually I live in Oregon and I believe we were the first to enact the bottle bill. And cans here are only 5 cents a piece. But I hardly ever throw one away. And I have always called pop POP. Thanks for your comment.

I should add also I have never picked them up along side of the road. Not yet anyway. I save them up for vacations and things like that. My husband hates it when I do that too.

I agree with you.I think the initial purpose we sign up mylot is getting fun,you could discuss with people on the topics which intrigue you,you could share your happiness with others, you could also tell your stories that annoy you and encourage others to give you advice...of course, you could earn some money here, but, you absolutely can't live on this.I think encourage people to speak more on mylot is the real purpose that mylot dispenses money,so don't be much too concernd about your earnings, just for fun.

i totally agree with you... that's why i never depend on online site for my source of income... i treat all of them as an extra income or a bonus... the main thing for me here is to get fun, enjoy myself, make new friends and get new knowledge by reading other people's discussions... if you are hoping to get rich here, then i wil say it is impossible... you have to work to earn your money... :-)

Agreed. There is no such thing as a free ride. People who are making a lot of money on the internet are working their backsides off for it, or else they have taken huge risks by investing money, which I refuse to do, and which one should never do without looking very, very carefully into the programs that you're investing into. Also, if someone wants money upfront for something, don't join. It's just that simple. Most things who want your money are scams, and it's easier to stay away than to get burned. And if you are going to invest, never ever invest more than you can afford to lose, because you honestly may lose it.

you are absolutely right buddy, people keep rambling that they worked so hard here everyday putting up more than 50 posts a day and so on.WORK??? this was supposed to be fun and the money was a reward for the fun you are having.there are so many other sites which say they ll pay you millions and trust me they are not going to.there will always be a catch.we need to see that we post or respond to quality discussions in order for mylot to survive.keep it in mind guys.

I just came from another post where the person referred to mylot as a job. I could not believe what I was reading, but I guess to some people this is a job. I would like to clarify that in most countries the money earned on a site like this is play money, not for bills and such, not a site to earn a living off of. I agree with you that people abuse things like mylot for the sole purpose of trying to earn a quick buck. Discussions that complain about how much this site pays are not only numerous but they are really getting annoying. It is quite sad that people with enough time to spend hours a day posting to discussions in the hopes of earning a few pennies would pass up real opportunities that are out there because they require WORK.(like eBay).

There is a lot of appeal to online money making. You know, sitting in your pajamas making thousands a day, we've all seen those pictures from those "businesses." However, I do think if you can stream together ENOUGH online sites, I don't think it's impossible to make 3-4 hundred extra a month.

I personally don't post here considering this as a job. And i think at least the majority here doesn't do it too. mylot is a good community to Discover, search, earn, and share information, and you get paid for it, It's good to know new people and new ways of thinking.. It's nice to be part of this community, and as i said before, you also get paid!. About other sites, I use only one or two others, but i think mylot is really a community, others are just.. sites.
