I thought i'd try and take my mind of something before i go to bed other wise i really won't sleep. =)
What's been you favourite gig?
I personally enjoy every single one i've been to. again this is my wife who drawn me into going as i am quite a shy person. There's only been one gig in which i didn't want to go to but if i admit to telling the truth it was nice and i often think about it. (cky + a few poor support bands with my brother)
Feel free to leave out this question, i just thought it would be fun to have a decent disucssion and the first question seems to lack in my opinion.
Have you ever looked forward to gig and somehow i missed it?
I have. I won't go into to much detail as i wouldn't want to put anyone to sleep lol.
One of the best gigs i missed. a blink 182 gig, my poor wife was throwing up and i decided to miss it and sit in the corridor and although i was sad to miss it as i knew i wouldn't get to see them again but i'd stay with her everytime. (he cousin, mum and brother was also so there and i was the only one who stayed with her to make sure shes okay) a small sign right there how much they truly cared.
sorry for rambling. (much happyier now) hehe

Hye Joey. Actually i wanna share my sadness because now in my country Muse going to have their live performance on the 25th Feb. Plus i don't have a ticket to go and now the fact that all the tickets were sold out really can't make me easy. I tried contest in the radio which offer the tickets as the prize but the damn phone line always busy and i am not the winner. Argh. I wish i can sneak in and hopefully won't get caught. Hope for the best aight?

I've seen Blink 182 in concert, they weren't anything to shout about so you didn't miss much! I was only there for the support band. My favourite gig was also the first gig i ever went to. It was Reel Big Fish, Zebrahead and The Matches and i LOVED all the music. It's the only gig i've been to where i still listen to all the bands i saw play. I've seen Reel Big Fish twice now and the second time The Matches were there too. :] I wanted to see Beck when my friends and I went to see Radiohead in Edinburgh but they were on much earlier than we thought they would be. We were eating dinner while they were playing. Never mind, Radiohead still rocked! Even though i did have pizza beforehand and threw up.. Lovely.

I have been going to gigs since I was around 15 yrs. In those days it was The Pogues, Billy Bragg and loads of indie groups at The Mean Fiddler in Camden.
Now I have matured my favourites have been Santana, he is god!!
BB King, John Lee Hooker and Earth Wind and Fire, absolutely fantastic!!
I only ever missed one gig and that was intentional. My partner and I went to see Eric Clapton and he was so boring(it was a blues gig) that we both went and sat in the bar.
You are very caring to have missed the gig for your wife, if that had been me I would have made everyone do a shift!!

I have been to quite a few gigs, the one that I missed and it broke my heart was Ozzy Osbourne. I waited hours for those tickets and paid a pretty penny for them as well. Two days before the concert I caught the worse stomache flu ever. The day of the concert I was so wanting to go...but there no way...I couldn't move more than a few feet without hurling. Anyways, I sold them to my cousin...she was so happy.
The best concert that I attended was OzFest. It just is an awesome show. But here in Orlando they have EarthDay Bithday and there concerts have rocked too! I'm not sure if I am attending this year. I am waiting to see what other bands are going to be added. It's an all day event like Ozfest. The bands playing so far are Sevendust, Chevelle,Buckcherry,Puddle Of Mudd,Papa Roach,Saliva,Flyleaf and Bullet For My Valentine.

I've been to a variety of concerts/shows, but I think the smaller more personal ones are the best.
I think some small lounge jazz concerts were great, but then again long ago I saw Frank Zappa and Elephant's Memory and that was fantastic! Lately we've been going to Country music shows and taking the kids. Last month I took my mom to go see Andy Williams (if you know who that old timer is).
We do go frequently -- just wish it was not so expensive.
By the way I'm sure your wife was so happy that you were the one that stayed with her -- I'm sure it meant more than you know to her!

I remember when I was younger, the Circle Jerks were my favorite band and they finally came to town (which is weird, because good bands hardly ever come to New Jersey) but I missed them and didn't get to see them until 10 years later. That was my favorite gig, too. It was the Circle Jerks, PennyWise, and some other little bands. Good time.

It goes to show that you are a very caring man. I like you. I never went to gigs or concerts. I never had any interest in them personally. I did go to one concert in my life, that was for Englebert Humperdink in the 80's. It was because it was my aunt's birthday and this was the person she wanted to see so we went. I actually enjoyed myself.

Hi again carol, =)
I try to be, although sometimes i do let myself down. Your a nice person to =)
I was pretty much like you. They wasn't something i was personally interested in because tehy can be priced quite foolishly high.
Englebert? My mother likes him. orgianl keen of smooth voice and romance, my father used to take the micky (playfully) he always said he prefered "tom jones" because she wasn't keen on him. lol
It's nice to hear you enjoy yourself. thanks for taking part =)

You'll get the chance to see them again.
I'm only 18, but I've been to my fair share of concerts. None of them all that impressive XD
Backstreet Boys (twice), Britney Spears (when she was sane and just starting her first tour), Nelly Furtado, Great Big Sea, Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Melissa O'neil and Rex Goudie, and Otown(I won VIP passes XD).
I might be going to see the Killers and Gwen Stefani. I'm not much of a Killers fan though. It's a date XD

I'm sorry to hear about the Blink 182 concert that you missed, but it was for a very good cause. It was truly sweet of you to stay with your wife who was feeling so sick.
I haven't yet missed out on a concert that I was meant to go to, that I can think of. Some of my favorite concerts were my very first, a Monkees/Weird Al gig in the 80's, and also one of the times that I saw Bryan White (a now obscure country singer, haven't heard of him in years, but I used to be almost obsessive over him, lol) and also another obscure band called Western Flyer who put on an amazing show. I was also lucky enough to get to go see a talented local performer play drums for a band last year, and that meant more to me than most of the expensive concerts that I've been to, because this guy is one of my favorite performers in the KC area! ^_^ But the band that he's in is no longer together, so... it's sad. But I think that I got to see their last local concert. So that made it even more special! ^_^

One of my favourite gigs recently was seeing Iron Maiden at the NEC Birmingham. I was supposed to be in the standing crowd but having suffered an accident I was resigned to missing the gig as being on crutches wasn't really practical. Fortunately, I was able to go into the disabled seated area and the gig was fantastic (I even found myself using one of the crutches as an air guitar)- lol
The one gig I really wish I hadn't missed was way back when I was supposed to be going to the Glastonbury Festival. Two days before the gig I was really sick, and it got worse and worse. I had contracted food poisoning and there was no hope of me spending a weekend camping in a field with food poisoning.

To me, a SHOW is something you go watch. A GIG is something i perform in. That being said, my favorite SHOW had to be Pink Floyd, I saw them in the 90s, and was mesmorized. Although U2 puts on a good show too. I also dig Social Distortion and am looking forward to seeing the Drop Kick Murphy's soon.
My favorite GIG HAD to be New Year's Eve 03 and 04. My band played at a big party both years and it was JUST a trip. Although I've also liked many of the solo acoustic gigs I've done.

I was given free tickets to the opening night of Coldplay's World tour which started off here in Vancouver. My hubby and I went and we LOVED it.
I was never a huge fan of Coldplay before, but the concert was awesome and at the end when the audience joined in singing the Chorus to "Fix you" I got goosebumps up my arms and body. I now have a lot of Coldplay songs on my iTunes LOL.
When I was a young girl, I was a huge fan of New Kids On The Block (Cringes) and I got the opportunity to go see those also. Brilliant concert I must say, but we couldn't see much - we were sat right at the back and they didn't have a large screen so that we could see.
I've also been to see East 17 at the height of their popularity in the UK. I've seen them on three separate occasions and they were good too.
Nothing beats seeing Coldplay though, that was definitely the best!

ive been to a few gigs...one of my favourites was my very first gig, which was to see Bon Jovi @ Old Trafford, it totally rocked. Since then I have seen Thin Lizzy twice and Whitesnake once...
...but my favourite gig was when I went to see Thin Lizzy in early 2006 with my Dad, but most importantly with my boyfriend, William...It really rocked, was so amazing. It was a shame a few people there messed it up for others (like the little stupid emo kids, trying to start a mosh pit @ a Lizzy concert - obviously didnt understand the group) but the gig was great, and it was me and williams first gig together :D plus we were all made deaf with how loud it was, as we were real close to the amps :D I got some wicked photographs too, which i will always treasure
