Do you have a favourite saying or quote

my favorite saying is: "roof's burnt down, now i can see the sky." i don't know who said this but i got the magnet at "whole foods" in ann arbor, mi. it talks about freedom and clarity after disaster has struck.

'Words destroy the functions of love'. It's from a Stephen King short story, and those words have stuck with me ever since I read them. And I beleive it's true. Words give things limits, constrains them, forces them unto boundaries. Words are used so often that the trivialize things, especially love. It's actions that prove emotions, not words.

Mine is one I have used for years "just remember I'm an old lady, so be nice to me". Alas, it doesn't work but brain is too tired to think of another one. :)

My favorite saying is something I created myself in one of my stories. Most people have heard the saying when pigs fly. My saying is when the grass turns pink. For example, I'll keep writing until the grass turns pink. Or, when the grass turns pink I'll still be there for my friends. In my story one character agrees with another. Then a third character asked if the grass turned pink.

My favorite quote is from a mysterious woman by the name of Kara from DC Universe: "We don't do it for the glory. We don't do it for the recognition. We do it because it needs to be done.
