well, i didn't see the shows, but i read about the secret on her website and i don't think it's much of secret, really.
whenever we felt bullied at school, or something bad happened to us, didn't our moms tell us, "honey, when life gives you lemons, make LEMONADE!!".
little mantras like this are what i repeat to myself everyday. i also like, "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger" and "i get to live my life once..that's it...so i'm going to make is good!".
basically, the secret, from what i have gathered, is living your life in a positive way.
-you get "in trouble" at work...instead of letting that ruin your day, LEARN from it. allow that experience to show you what not to do next time, or allow it to show you that maybe you're in the wrong job, or allow it to show you that your boss is having a bad day and maybe YOU can do something to help him/her be happier. if you express positivity to them, then they will feel better and so will you.
-i was feeling down about my friends. instead of letting that negative thought rule my life, i decided to do something about it and i had everyone over for a game night! sure, the kids broke a lamp, and the dog got excited and peed on the floor, but we all had a BLAST and i feel better and everyone got to enjoy being together for a night.
see, the more postively you lead your life and the more positive energy you put into things, the more positive things will happen to you and positive things will be attracted to you.
be a good person and good things will happen. sometimes it's hard to find the good in it, but it is there.
i even wondered, well, someday, my mom will pass away. what could be good in that...know what i came up with??? i took me a long time, but i realized that once she is gone, then that means that i will be a good enough of a mom and wife and woman that i won't need her anymore. or maybe it's just that when she passes she will be very sick and her passing will stop that suffering....
see, if you look hard enough, there's always that silver lining.
we have been taught the secret our whole lives, it's just that Oprah is helping to make the world pay attention.
take care.

I have heard the hype also but have no clue what it is about. I didn't even know it was a documentary. I guess that it is really a secret. I'm going to have to go to Oprah's website and see if I can figure out what it is.

Read one of the best books that the makers of The Secret used for inspiration.
It's FREE and available online.
I put a link to the book on my blog. Look for the post titled "Kevin Hogan and The Secret". The link to the book is at the bottom of that post.
See my profile for my blog link.

The Secret is about thinking, feeling and believing in something that you want. You don't just want it. You know in your heart you will get it. If you think something bad is going to happen, then it likely will. We must learn to think, feel, believe and act on all the things we want and do not focus at all on what we don't want. It's a lot easier said than done, I know.
I am making a life map - a poster of pictures and words of things I want in my life. I will put it over my desk where I can see it all day every day. That way I will focus on all those good things. As long as I believe I will never get out of debt, I never will. I must believe deep down that I will have money, lots of money.
Now if we could only get the whole world to live this way, what a wonderful place it would be!
