It could be said that he is the first actor in india to explore method acting especially at a time when indian acting was very cliched. His characterizations and the effort and versatality that he brings to his roles is unmatched by any actor in Asian Cinema. If there is one actor from asia who could be compared to Marlon Brando it is Kamal. I regard him as the greatest actor India has ever produced.

you are very true... he is a universal actor... he can act in any of the character he wishes.... actually he becomes the character itself... i felt his best performance in "Sadma" when he really hit the rod at the station in the last scenes unknowingly, deeply involved in acting.. he is a legend!
