About 1200 dollars a month would do us. I could pay bills, buy groceries and still have some money for additional activities for the kids. Some savings too. Hubby used to deposit that and we did fine with me as a stay at home mom. He no longer works there so I work outside the home and do things online now. We are both worth that much money working and so would hope one of us finds that job soon!

I can answer only how much money would be enough for our three membered family.
I think 500 000Ft which is $2500 per month. That is not much, we would live in the same flat, but are life standard would be higher.

Oh my goodness...I have a large family and I think the ideal amount I would need to survive is about $5000 a month. Between housing, utilities and food, we barely scrape by. My biggest concern is medical care for my children. It's expensive and it barely covers much. It's insane what some prescriptions costs these days.

I could just about survive on £800 a month. That would be enough to pay the mortgage and all my bills and food, however it wouldn't leave anything for emergencies so I'm happy to stick with the £900 a month that I currently have.
