hello Boyer_megan, do you have a facebook account? You can try searching for the art of crochet by Teresa there. Or maybe you could go to Youtube, She has a lot of instructional videos there. Just search for crochet and you will be led to hundreds of video lessons there.
Good day and Happy crocheting!

My mom taught me the basics, but most stitches I have learned by myself. I used to make mice and stuff them with catnip. Right now, I am making baby hats and blankets for charity. Next project will be amigurumi. There are so many patterns that you can download for free, that I only have a few books that show all the different stitches. I really like the Lionbrand website and Bev's country cottage.

My mother in law taught me how to crochet and I think I've made pretty much everything that can be made from doilies to clothing. I even made several things with seed beads in them, such as tablecloths and fancier doilies. I think the doilies (without the beads) are probably the ones I found worked up the quickest, and you can find tons of free patterns on the web.

My mom taught me 25+ years ago. I have a lot of good ideas on my crochet blog.
