Well I would have to say Battery...I went to their recent
concert in New Orleans...Yeah Baby...and can I tell you
their performance was phenomenal. I especially loved
Unforgiven with the clip of Clint Eastwood. I highly
recommend catching them perform live whenever that chance
comes around again.

it may be strange, but st anger actually got me into metallica, that was the first album I bought, followed by the black album and then master of puppets! Now I have them all! But i have to say I still do like listening to the St Anger album

Fuel?! Seems like you are new to hearing Metallica. Try listening to their early albums it really kicks a**!!!!
For me the song that got me was "Master of Puppets" and "Seek and Destroy" I could head bang for hours with those songs and it really gives me a head rush!!!

It would have to be sanitarium... from the first moment i heard it, it captivated me, i wanted to know where this song was going, i was lucky enough to see Metallica live at Download Festival 2006 and when the first few bars of sanitarium began i got goosebumps and began to cry, it was wonderful!!!

For me it was the entire 'Black' album that a friend loaned me in high school.
I am not particurally fond of some of their earlier stuff. But anything from Master of Puppets up is good, excluding St Anger. I was very disappointed in that album.
My favorite song of all time would have to be Wherever I may Roam

A classmate once dedicated Master Of Puppets to me but I never really heard any Metallica song at the time. The very first Metallica song I really heard was a week after this dedication, it was Hit The Lights. I was blown away and "Kill Em All" became the second record in my collection. And I was just 12 at the time. :)

Nothing else matters .. As it has lot to do with the band itself and their lifestyles .. They believe in enjoying the every moment to its fullest and this is all what matters to them . So are the words of song .. As long as your dreams and your priorities are in lined up as they are supposed to be .. you should not be much worried about other stuffs ..

It wasnt actually one of their songs that got me interested in their works, but their Instrumental Orion.
A friend of mine had placed the CD in the player and let it play all the songs. I didnt really pay much attention till all the soloing in Orion. I thought it sounded wicked and then bought the CD.
Well, that led me into a being a fan since that CD got on sale basicly :P
