For me being a Filipina, it is not that hard because we are colonized before by spaniards that is why we have a language very close to spanish. as for you. i think it wouldn't be hard like french or german. believe me. haha.. :)) take classes. i'll be willing to teach you but then i'm just learning myself.. haha... good luck to you!

It would be difficult for a German, yes. But for a French, it would be easy. It's all in the way languages evolve: Spanish, French, Italian, and about half of English are descended from Latin, so someone who knows one of those well will find it easier to learn the others. Personally, I find that classroom Spanish is very easy to learn, but conversational Spanish is more difficult because of the huge number of very different dialects, and because native speakers of it often speak too quickly for me to pick up the words and translate them. In other words, it is easy to learn Spanish, but it is difficult to become fluent in it.

Your best bet is to pick up a book, or pick up a class. I know it's probably out of the option to move to somewhere primarily Spanish-speaking, but that also is an option. the only way you can learn is by actually speaking it. So, there's also awesome software out there, such as Rosetta Stone that you could try.

Hi, Katpet I just wanted to say Spanish is not so hard, I work around a lot of spainsh people, who desire to speak English, so they help e and I help them, the one thing I have learned is that you really need to hear the say it, to get the right pronunciation, so try learning from the experts. I know some spanish but I sincerely doubt that I would make that great of a teacher. Spanish really isn't that hard to learn though, you should be able to pick it up quickly :) Good luck!

I'm learning Spanish using audio cd's. I listen to them while driving to and from work. If you spend an hour driving the its like having an hour lesson a day. What bettery way to spend your time being stuck in traffic!?
