is rice essential to your diet?

i love rice ... maybe cos im chinese .. but rice is essential to my diet ..
as essential as it may be though .. i can still live without rice .. but i love it ..
either way ..
i need to know how important is rice to ur diet ..

Rice is our staple food and i like it very much my food is not complete without rice , i have o eat rice. if i dont eat for three four days continuos, i start craving for. infact in some parts of the world, "to eat" literally means "to eat rice ". all varieties of rice are available throughout the year. if a person has to maintain a healthy body weight he should choose whole grains such as brown rice rather than refined grain i.e., white rice. it is high in carbohydrates.

I think, for almost all Asians rice is considered to be their staple food and since am an Indian..My main meal would always include rice and my day never ends without eating rice when am at home..I can be without eating rice only for fewdays ,i cant just avoid eating it at all eventhough i have a liking for eating noodles, pizzas, burgers etc...

im on diet also..i also love rice..here in the philippines, all filipino eat rice..i only half rice of my regular meal right now..its so very hard to control not to eat much..special rice..

Rice is my daily staple food, but when I go to regions without rice, I eat whatever I get locally.

I am also a Chinese and I have rice almost everyday. However, it is not essential that I have it. I like to eat noodles and potatoes as well. However, if I don't have it for some time, I will probably miss it and yearn to eat it.

rice is not uberly important in our diet..its just carbohydrates..well, we have rice too every meal but i tend to lessen the servings of rice i eat. better stick with bread or something else thats more beneficial other than rice.
