I would say good service is more important. Although the food has to be good to. I was at a restaurant the other day with friends and the service was absolutely horrendous. We were there for 1.5 hours before we got our food! Althought the food was delicious I will never go back to that restaurant again.

I think it is good food. Even if the restaurant provides a very good service it will be of no use if it is not coupled with good food. Afterall we go to a restaurant to get to taste some good food and dishes. If they cannot provide this we are better off eating at our homes. Good service is also important but it is like an accessory, the most important being the food.

good food is more appealing to me than good service. i also appreciate good service from some waiters but good food matters to me most.

I would go for good food for sure. lol
For I need to eat, the politeness of the waitress/es only adds the value to the food.
When I reckon the food is good but the service is not bad, I will try to get the same food (usually they have branch or similar restaurant in other places) then eat there instead of the one that I know would definetely not meet the satisfaction of me (at least).

I could go with just the good food.....that would keep me coming back. Now if the service is really terrible then I may not go there as often as I would if they had both good service and food.
Good service alone is just not enough....it's the food that keeps customers coming back.We have a little Cafe here in town....the food is awsome.....but the service really lacks. We go there just about every weekend for breakfast and the place is always full.
So it's definately the food that keeps them coming back.....as for the service.....that's easy.....you just don't tip as much.
