There were things aboput my mother I couldn't stand as a child. Now as a mother, I find myself being alot like her. Are we destined to become our mother?

I don't believe this is true at all.I had a poor example of a mother, and will never be anything like her. She was a good person, but not a good mother.

Yes... unfortunately you are...
All children are a blend of what their parents are.
In my case... I am half what my father was and half what my mother was... which is not a bad combination. But I would have prefered being myself.
It is said that by the age of 5... we have become our parents. And it cannot be changed. So if your children are under 5... beware about what you teach them. They are watching you and imitating you. Everything you and your husband do is being programmed into their brain like you would program a robot. Only problem is... at that age, they cannot separate the good from the bad... so they process all the information as normal behaviour... like a robot would.
