How often do you clean your home?

This past weekend, my parents came to visit and it was a flurry of activity before they arrived to clean up our messy house. It typically is like this whenever we expect guests- I usually wait to the last minute and then go crazy cleaning our place from top to bottom.
If we aren't expecting guests, I typically try to clean the house on a weekly basis- though sometimes I slack in these duties. There are certain things that cannot wait to be cleaned (cat box, etc), but sometimes I just let things like laundry pile up until they are almost to the point of no return.
Does anyone else procrastinate when it comes to cleaning? Or do you stick to a routine like I sometimes try to? It's very difficult for me to stay motivated on this subject so some words of encouragement would be appreciated.

I like to get things done so the house doesn't look to bad if someone drops by-which never happenns. But I do laundry almost every day, clean the bathrooms once a week and dust once a week. I vaccuum whenever the floor is dirty. I think it is easier to clean once a week instead of waiting until things get really messy.

Wel I give my house a complete, and thorough clean every Saturday - bathroom, toilet, kitchen etc, and all the vacuuming, and dusting, as well as changing the sheets on the bed, and all the washing, and ironing. Yes - Saturday is a very busy day - LOL! However, as I have 5 cats at home, I also vacuum the lounge, and clean the kitchen floor every night when I come home from work, as it gets too messy otherwise. I am not a great fan of housework (is anyone?), but I can't stand mess, and dirt either, so I really have no choice.

i still live with my parents, and have to do chores around the house. Our house is cleaned every day, and always has to look tidy. I vacuum, dust and mop everyday. The kitchen gets wiped all over everyday, and we are constantly doing the laundry, which piles up quick and gets ironed once or twice a week. But once it is all done, you have the rest of the day to enjoy it, and not have to see the mess or clutter everywhere. We all work together to get it done, and i don't mind doing it either. However it can sometimes be very monotanous.

Hi there, I'm glad i'm not the only one in the universe who dislikes cleaning. My cleaning is so bad I can't even invite anyone into the house! We are in a drought at the moment and there's been smoke in the air for the last 4 months due to severe bushfires to the east of us - so the house is getting incredibly dusty. As soon as you clean something, it's filthy again within minutes it seems. I let the laundry pile up so much that at the moment poor old hubby has no pants & socks to wear - so guess tomorrow's laundry day. Ugh! lol

Rarely. Though my mom does it every week or twice a month.
Cleaning in my terms the whole house otherwise sweeping is done daily and make sure the dust particles are not there on the floor.

I prefer homes that are clean, for after returning home from a tiresome work schedule, one would like to relax in peace.
So I clean the floor myself every morning and a through cleaning every weekends.
This gives me pleasure, relaxes my mind and builts a nice ambience at home.

I'm just like you. But I trust my feeling. If I am about to die in dirt... I think I would clean up. :D
Seriously. I clean when I begin to feel unpleasant in my own room. I dislike this feeling and then cleaning brings me much joy. Of course, when I'm done, I don't clean for another 1000 weeks, but 'till then I feel more comfortable in my room. It all depends on the feeling for me. :)

If possible we have to clean our house everyday. In our haouse we clean once sometimes twice a day. It depends on the activity of each member of the family. The cleaner the house the better. Clean house is like staying in a palace even if you only have small house.

I try to keep up with the housework as much as possible, but sometimes it is just faster than me! The only cleaning thing I have scheduled that I stick to is cleaning the cat box on Wednesday and Sunday. Other than that, if the carpet needs vacuuming and I have the time, I do it; if not, it waits until later. Most of the daily stuff we can keep on top of like the dishes and putting things away, my bf is also very good about doing the laundry, since he usually gets home a couple hours before me, and then we will fold the clothes together.
I do find having guests to be a great motivator though; there is usually an few hours of vacuuming and straightening up right before guests arrive. As for staying motovated, I think it is easier to try to tackle only a little cleaning at a time, so that it is not so overwhelming. Doing only one load of laundry and folding it right away is much less daunting a task than making the time to do 4 loads, etc. I also like to listen to fast-paced music while I work to keep me going. And then I give myself a little reward when I have finished the list, like some ice cream or an hour on myLot!

I try to do a once-over every day. I walk thought my apartment (it's pretty small) and tidy things up, straighten the magazines on teh coffee table, throw away empty coke cans, stuff like that.
I tend to slack off in the more involved stuff -- vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, stuff like that. I only do that stuff every two-three weeks or so.
But, meh, I'm a college student, so I can get away with it.

When it comes to cleaning the whole house, I usually procrastinate. I don't like that much cleaning the whole house because of the fact that it's to huge to clean up. Unlike with my own room, I like it to be well fixed and not that messy at all especially when I sleep. I want it to be well organized. BUt when it comes to the whole house, oh my! I needed someone else to help me clean it up.

Basically i m really a very lazy person but i do clean my home regularly.I do it on regular basis n i ahve a servant who does it on day to day basis. Its a tough job bcoz of such a tight schedule i get very little time to go for these things but its really very necessary to kkep our sorroundings clean so tht we r not affected by it.Its very important for us to maintain cleaniness because its saves us from the danger o fany infection n keeps us fit aal th etime.
