It is kind of funny but I can understand why you'd be angry over it. I think I would have called the number back and demanded to speak with a manager or at the very least a supervisor. Most calls are recorded at call centers, so she's probably been reprimanded already, however I still think I'd lodge a complaint with the company.

I really hate those annoying people! I used to get called about something over and over again. They offered i think some kind of pills and I said no but they kept calling me over and over again. After A while they stopped and i was so grateful and happy

I would be mad too.. Get the number from your caller id and give it to all sorts of junkie stuff of the internet... Take their email address if they call you again and give it to the spam masters...
I am running out of ideas... What else should we do...
One thing... dont show that anger on your poor hubby... :)

LOL this reminds me of my experience a few weeks ago. This female would call, every day around the same time, and ask for Sheila. Every day I told her that she had the wrong number. Finally, one day, she calls and asks to speak to Sheila. So I said "She's not here." And the person said, "Do you know when she'll be back" And I said, "well, I don't think she will be, seeing as she does not live here. And by the way, could you please stop calling me everyday, asking for her" And the woman got all nasty with me, insisted that she hadn't called before.
Yeah, right.

Oh my. If you have her name and which company she called you from, I'd call the manager and get her fired. How on earth can someone feel they are given the ground to call someone back and call them an idiot when they state that they're not interested.
I absolutely hate telemarketers because of their strong arm tactics when trying to sell things. If they call my home I tell them that I'm not interested and hang up, if the phone rings within 2 minutes of me putting it down I don't answer it. I figure if it's someone from my family or my husbands family, they'll try again later.

Too bad you didn't get her name and company. I would have been angry too but sometime you just have to laugh it off cause it is only bothering you. She probably does that sort of thing on a daily basis and has already forgotten you.

What I do with a lot of telemarketers is I hang up then I call them back and try to sell them something. Its hilarious when you get one that sits there and listens. And they call us idiots at times. Too funny actually. I also ask for their supervisor a lot of times to request removal from their lists etc.

Thanks for a comment by the way. Now heres another tale about the same topic. On Tuesday I seen an "unkown" number on caller ID. I decided to answer it. I heard, "Mr O......" Right then I started to yell, "HELLO?HELLO?" Well that got them to hang up thinking I had problems with my phone. They never did call back. I also speak in broken words like.."I'm not re.... inter....." That also works as they again think problems with the phone on my end. Fuunny & it works also. HAHAHA. happy postings from Grabdpa Bob. HAHAHA.

I would have been livid mad. I hate when telemarketers call and are completely rude. I realise they are just tryint to make a living just like the rest of us are so I give then 2 chances to hear no before I get upset. They know they are safe on the other end of the line and we could never complain and get anything done about it.
There should be a way we could call back and complain to their bosses and get them to realise thay are making a mistake. At least if there were some sort of accountability they might be a bit nicer.
Im sorry this happened to you.

That is so annoying. The worse thing about telemarketers and I know it is in Australia so assume it's the same in other countries is if you have a display phone it comes up either private or unavailable so you can't ring back and complain.i hate it when they ring at meal times. As we have caller dispaly we ignore it but if we do answer my son usually gets on and starts talking in a funny accent and totally confuses them. The person you mention had no right to call you names and sounds like she's the idiot.

yep. that's also true in the philippines. however, i say that filipino telemarketers aren't as rude as that. i had phone calls from telemarketers, too. but they had been always respectful. but still, i always say no to them and say i am not interested. and they do understand. but there are those who are really annoying and keeps on bugging me. but then, they give up after sometime.

Shame you couldn't get hold of that idiots number and report her to her company. The next time someone calls and harrasses you in this way, the best thing to do is ask them to hold on and then just calmly put the receiver down on the side and leave them hanging on. Eventually they'll get bored and hang up. The call has cost them money and wasted their time. If they call back again another day (if they're really THAT stupid) just do the same thing. Usually works a treat. Good luck and don't stay too mad just get even with the next caller like that!

Seems to me, shes the childish idiot. By the way you dont need caller id,i'm pretty sure theres a way to trace back to the call if you ask your phone service provider.

that is really outrageous... you should definitely report her... i hate those telemarketers... they are just pissed me off... i'm not blaming them for doing their jobs as all of us are working for a living... but they shouldn't push people to the limit and pestering us over and over again... and to add on to that, now they call you names...

Was it a prank played on you from someone close to you, please verify. As such no one would use such a slang, as all the conversations are recorded and none would like to loose a job.
Anyway, what ever happened to you has to be condemned.

One way to get telemarketers to take your number off their list is to really mess with them when they call. I am a SAHM so I have LOTS of time to play with them. Like I keep getting calls from a diabetic supply company. It took about three "crazy" calls to get them to stop calling. I will ask them all kinds of personal questions or ask them for advice regarding stuff that has nothing to do with me or I ask questions about their products that really have nothing to do with the product. The average telemarketer call for me is around 6 minutes. That is about how long it takes them to realize that I am messing around with them. Then THEY hang up on me. Sometimes I just let my 4 year old talk to them. It takes about 2 minutes for them to hang up when he aswers the phone. He is really funny. He asks "Who are you? Why are you calling my mama? What do you want? Can I play outside at your house?" It's funny.

Wow, now that is very funny. I'm going to try that, execpt I can use my new born and when I'm on the phone I'll just be asking random questions and have him cry in the back ground.

when i read your post i laughed for about 5 minutes..this is good!!
i don't mean to annoy any one but in my younger years i worked as a telemarketer and yes it is a terrible job
the job is terrible and the customers seem terrible and everything that evolves around this job seems like hell
so we always played a game called: 'what would we do to customers that hung the phone on us..' and the answer was always..we will call them back and tell them what we think of them..ofcourse i did not ever do that nor anyone i knew..but when i read yer post i see that one telemarketing lady wish came true..so it was funny
i agree that you do not do this kind of a thing, it is a job you have to be pokite and tolernt and understand the word "NO" when you get a refusal and go on to the next customer..in that you are right and i will be happy if you will find who she is and take care of it..
but still think of it in a humorious way..she was in a very bad day emotionally and made the other telemarketers little wish come true..so maybe she could be forgiven???
when she called you an idiot she probably thaught of her fight with her best friend..what do you say are u willing to forgive and forget????:)
