What would you do if your friend....

I just discovered that a person who is on my myLot friend list is copying and pasting my discussions over to dormcheck! Another myLot friend alerted me to this a few days ago. I joined dormcheck just so I could post to the discussion and state my concern. Now that I am a member at dormcheck, I might as well post there. I can't because people have posted my discussions already! I have emailed the administrators at both sites too. What would you do if you found that you were deceived by a 'friend' like this?

OH MY GOSH! How bold of someone! You know, I guess I would never make a good dishonest person or a good criminal. I am always so terrified of getting caught. Plus, how stupid to do this...doesn't this person know that there are plenty of people who are on dormcheck as well as here? How dumb! First, I would do what you did and contact the admin on both sites and then I would confront this person and delete him/her from my friends list. That is just ridiculous.

Some people don't think. They just look at a way to make money and figure no one will catch them. They are too arogant to realize that they aren't above the rules.

Well I don't think there is much one can do, but stop being friends with that person and hope that the appropriate action will be taken so this person couldn't do again to someone else. It's a shame that a "friend" would take advantage of someone like that. When there is plenty to talk about. To me this person was just being lazy and trying to take advantage of not only you, but of the site. I hope it gets straightened out for you soon. Sorry you had to go through this.

Ouch, that hurts. I hope you've deleted them from your friend's list. Hopefully, Mylot & Dormcheck will be able to work something out here because if they don't this will continue and the perpetrator will probably become even bolder. I guess you can take some consolation in the old adage " immitation is the highest form of flattery." But it's still a huge betrayal. Good luck with this.

Well that really stinks. I'm glad you reported it to the adninistrators of both sites. What is wrong with people these days. It just totally ticks me off when people do this. I've had my responses copied but not my discussions. Well not that I'm aware of anyway. Gee I hope this peson isn't on my friends list. God knows how many peoples discussions have been copied by them. I don't know anything about dormcheck but I hope the administration takes some kind of action.

That is terrible, I think you have done the right thing by complaining and that is what I would have done. I hope that this person will get some type of penalty. Doesn't this person have their own original ideas to talk about? I don't think you can really call this person a friend, it is a very low thing to do. I hope they feel ashamed of themselves, I know I would if I did something like that.

Thats an indication he or she is not a good friend indeed, he could have asked your permission. I tell you, just distance yourself from people like that or you are digging your grave gradually.

I would take them off my list immediately and report them to the website staff so they can terminate this person so they could not do this to other people. We certainly be more cautious who we add to our lists. I think that is horrible that they did this to you and am sure they probably have done this to other people as well. They are thieves and obviously liked your discussions a lot for them to post it elsewhere.

I would do exactly what you did, plus, I would confront this person too. See if they will answer you. Do it nicely, as not to put them on defense. I am sorry that someone did this to you. The world seems to be so full of these kinds of people more and more.

This really stinks! I know that you have a lot of the same friends as I do, and your "standards" are similar, so this must be really disappointing. I would be hurt and upset, and I would have done the exact same thing. I would report the discussions to the administrators at both sites, and I would definitely delete the person from my friends list. It's too bad that this had to happen. I'm sure that you'll be able to start more good discussions at dormcheck- just don't leave MyLot, OK?

Honestly there isn't much you can do at Dormcheck's end. That site fell a long ago. That so called friend is basically wasting there time at that site. Hopefully, with Mylot this will stop. Dormcheck is a waste of time, wish I never joined. I was three dollars short of being at the payout and the site just crumbled.
So I don't know what you can do besides removing this person from your list of friends and reporting them.
Good Luck.

The site seems to be up and running at this time. Is it perhaps with a new administrator or something?

If you give me your referral ID for dormcheck, I will sign up under you (also PM me the username of the person doing this). I will then go to all the posts made by this person over at dormcheck and just flames them with "this discussion first started by crazynurse over at mylot" and add the link to your original thread. If you can get a bunch of your friends here to do the same thing I think this person will get the message pretty quickly.

You did the most important thing, which was report them to the dormcheck admin. My next step if it was me, would be to message this "friend" and let them know what I think of them. Next, take them off my friend's list, of course.
And you need to keep in mind that on these sites, "friend" doesn't really mean much, so you shouldn't expect anything better.

Oh my. This is a true betrayal by someone considered to be a friend.
I don't think there's much else you can do about this to be honest. Hopefully the administrators from both sites will ban this person.
The whole point of a forum is for people to post and reply to discussions, not to copy and paste someone else's work. That is really low.
I'm sorry this has happened to you. I hope there is a satisfactory outcome to this for you.

I think that is a sing that he or she isnt really your freind, he or she could have atleast asked if he or she could do this before goign and posting it on dormcheck. Its just not right to me, my advice is you either ask him or her to sto and if he or she says no break the freindship...

well, i will definitely try to straighten the matter up with the administrator... next, i will confront this 'friend' and tell him/her that i am really hurt of what he/she had done to me... then, i will probably stop making friends with him/her... good luck in resolving the issues... hope justice will be done to your 'friend'...

Wow.. that's terrible-- This isn't a friend at all. Did this friend even tell you about dormcheck? Of course probably not- then you would have found out they were cheaters. I would seriously let this person know that you know they did this. Drop them as your friend on mylot. Why would you want friends like this? I wonder where else they are posting your discussions to..

Well first of all i'd say to my 'friend' that was not cool and hes not a real friend. So then i'd join the site[in this case dormcheck] and try to contact administrators, send proofs with Pictures of your posts and your rating [since you are a high rated member here this means your not faking those discussions..] Then i guess maybe the admins there should be able to ban your friend for ripping posts from another person in another site... That's what i would do in this case.. Good Luck trying to solve this problem. :)

What audacity this person has! Yes, do let us know who this person is so that we may boycott them, as well. What's the old saying: With friends like that, who needs enemies.

well well, you know are these kind of people who are suckers, they are parasites. How come they join such groups and copy others works. And whats sad to say they are your friends. If it would happen to me, I would be devastated, its a sort of an insult on my part. I will have to talk to my friend about it.
