I'm glad some of our troops are being pulled out. I wish all of them could be pulled out. As the other poster who said that Britain should compensate the Americans - if we'd had some say in the strategy, then I'd agree with you. But we had zero say. Ef Britain thought Abu Ghraib should have been closed down in April 2003 - but the Americans disagreed, and then proceeded to use it to torture Iraqis and hence lost the hearts and minds and ensured the insurgency took hold. Typical Americans to now assert that Britain is partly to blame for the post-war conduct! I'll wager it will be a good half centurt before Britain goes into war with the Americans again.

Oh yeh we won't have anyone like blair again, pumping money and our lads into a war we didn't really understand the benefits of at a time when our education, health service and public transports were failing us from uncontrolled immigration. with spiraling crime and house prices, he was a complete ignoramus. people praise him because he did what he thought was right, but that's not what we elected his labour party for, we are a democracy, not a republic. we have just found peace with the IRA now we have just made ourselves a new enemy fighting us in our own country. i hope he has the soul to punish himself for it.

I'm glad at least some troops are coming out even if they aren't ours. Blair has his own political climate to think of. I really wish we were pulling our troops out too. I don't think this surge idea is going to work long term.

I didn't have the chance to see the news today. I don't know what to think. I know the Iraq war is very unpopular in England. I think blair should help with the reparations of that country though. The whole state of affairs is disgusting as far as I am concerned.

It was a wise decision. But i fear it is going to affect two things 1. US UK relations 2. Security in Iraq

OMG I think I have found a subject we actually agree on redauphinee, well of course it isnt religion but anyways. I think it was a smart move on his part obviously he is feeling the political pressure. As anyone who as brief encounters with me blogging knows I am pretty hot headed on politics (and religion) but I found a video clip on www.youtube.com it was a Iraq war parody made by "mad tv" called "I rack" I tried unsuccessfully to type it in but since I cant cut and paste I have to leave it up to you guys to search for it yourselves. It is very funny but unfortunately all to true of our current administration.
