3yrs ago before our first daughter was born. We live pretty far from family/friends, so we have no one to watch the girls for us to be able to go out on a 'date'.

My husband passed away after we had been married 25 years, but until he got sick we had at least one romantic date a week. When our children were young we made it a point to have a sitter every Friday night. That was our date night and something for each of us to look forward to all week. About once a month we would get away for a night or so to ourselves.
It certainly helped to keep the romance in our marriage. I know if he was still here that we would still be having our date nights.

We have a standard date night on tuesdays. We had to start it because we weren't spending anytime together because of work and the kids and of course he is a night person and I am a night person. But date night is always fun and we get to talk which is great.
