Doing what "THEY" say...

I rarely ever listen to the dr.'s or so-called "experts". I know my kids better than other people. But I more of a problem with people in my family (who don't have kids) telling me what I should/n't do. It really gets under my skin but I try not to let it show. I figure they don't know what they're talking about and I don't have to do what they say. I just let them run their mouth and "yeah yeah" them lol.

I've never had a doctor tell me how to parent, if I did, I'd walk out since they are merely there for my son's physical health. I really don't trust the "experts" at all, like when I watch nanny 911. A lot of them don't have children of their own. I also got some parenting books when I was pregnant, I donated them, they were useless, all about putting a newborn on a strict schedule-if anyone knows me I don't schedule lol, I follow my son's cues as to when he's sleepy, hungry, etc. So I follow what he needs and I use my mommy instinct.

Hey LM :D I only follow my gut & my heart when it comes to my son. No phd knows him like I do so they couldn't begin to tell me how to raise my child w/ emphasis on the word my b/c he belongs to me until he turns 18. No dr or government official should to try to influence the way we raise our children as long as there isn't any abuse involved. +'s 4 U :)

I do listen all and if I feel it is right and good for me then I will do that.

I believe every child is different. So u need to follow your instincts as to what ur child wants. In certain serious problems our parents and docs are always trhere. So why worry...be happy and enjoy parenthood.
